Throughout most of the 19th century, ammunition production continued at high levels thanks to advances in technology and manufacturing techniques! However, World War I caused significant declines in demand due to new technologies such as machine gun fire! When World War II began, there were already too few bullets left available so Winchester created an entirely new type of cartridge – .30 Winchester Magnum! In fact, this cartridge remains one of the most popular handgun cartridges ever created! Today Concord continues to be an important producer of ammo with many different types available including rifle rounds (ammunition)and pistols (firearm rounds). Concord, New Hampshire is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 7,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Manchester-Hillsborough, NH metropolitan area. Concord is one of the oldest towns in New England and has been founded by English settlers in 1623. The first permanent European settler in what would become Concord was John Winthrop on December 14, 1623. Winthrop had come from Boston with his family and friends to settle in what would become Hillsborough County. He named his new settlement "Concord" after the city of London where he had previously lived as an indentured servant. The first white settlers in Concord were Samuel Willard and John Hathorne. They erected a mill here on the banks of the Risquier River which still stands today (the current Millstream Elementary School). Other early settlements include Hollis (now Holliston), Westfield (now Waterville), North Hampton, East Hampton, Nahant (now Nahant Island), and Round Hill (now Round Hill Station). In 1801, whenNH became a state within the United States of America, Concord became its capital under Governor Jonathan Edwards. In 1812 it was moved to Nashua due to high water levels caused by bad weather during wintertime; however it remained as its capital until 1824 when it returned to Salem because that community had outgrown Nashua's facilities for government business. During World War II Concord experienced some intense bombing raids from American B-29s over Japan on April 15–16 1945; these raids are sometimes called "The Glimpse Over Japan". After World War II much of downtown went up in flames as a result of heavy firebombing by the USAAF during Operation Crossroads; however many buildings have since been restored or replaced including most notably First Congregational Church which burned down on September 9th 1948 while serving as headquarters for both local Free Methodist ministers and Air Force commanders during this time period A new Post Office opened at Concorde Center on November 3rd 1946 which served residents of Nashua until May 2nd 1957 when that office relocated to Manchester due to increased mail volume at Manchester Airport following construction of that facility across town (). On January 1st 1979 NH started issuing driver's licenses starting with just five digits rather than 10 like other states; this led to much cost overruns resulting in only about 50% being produced initially despite promises by then NH governor John Lynch that more licenses would be issued within 180 days (). The first settler in Concord was Samuel Morse in 1769. The town of Concord was platted in 1785 by Ebenezer Congdon and named for General John Burgoyne's successful defense of Saratoga against George Washington's forces. In 1802, Concord became the seat of Hillsborough County after it was carved from neighboring Manchester Township. The county courthouse located on Main Street until 1907 was replaced by the current building on State Street near the intersection with Goffstown Road. In 1837, there were six churches located throughout Concord: Baptist (founded 1814), Methodist (1836), Presbyterian (1860), Catholic (1871), Lutheran (1881), and Unitarian (1907). Reverend William Sloan organized what is now called "The Church at Home" congregation There are also several schools including North Central School District No. 1 which serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade as well as Our Lady of Lourdes Academy which provides secondary education for girls betweengrades 7-12 In 1912, when Interstate 80 came into being, NH Route 3 became concurrent with I-80 acrossNH from downtown NH to exit 16B just north of Goffstown and then continued northerly on Indian Head Road to continue south past Nashua into NH . Nowadays I-80 splits off from NH Route 3 about 4 miles west of Goffstown and flows eastward paralleling NH Route 3 all the way to exits 9A and 9B near Nashua . So highway conditions have changed since then that you will still seeRoute 3 signed as NH Route 316 until Exit 16B goes under I-80
