The track is long gone but its footprint can be seen at several locations around town including First African Baptist Church on North Charleston Boulevard east of I-5 and near Guggenheim Museum south of I-15 border crossing. In 1907 incorporation began proceedings for what would become Reno with then Mayor John Sutter as its first mayor; only two years later it became an unincorporated community within Clark County under his jurisdiction.. On November 15, 1912 voters approved annexation into Clark County from unincorporated sections of Nevada after passage of a referendum question asking them to do so .
