These new designs quickly gained popularity among municipalities throughout Europe due to their advantages over legacy buses: shorter running times, reduced emissions, and easier procurement processes. By 2002, Pendulum buses had become widespread in European communities and were being used by many major metropolitan areas including London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Copenhagen Metro Station etc.. In 2003 alone there were over 1 millionpendulum vehicles registered worldwide with plans underway to install them in over 100 million public transportation systems around the world within 5 years!

In 1850 the town approved a plan for an agricultural settlement which would house up to 100 residents. This settlement failed due to lack of funding and insufficient infrastructure however, it did serve as a training ground for future settlers. During the Mexican–American War (1846-1848) mesquite served as one of several towns along Santa Fe Trail between New Mexico Territory and California Territory side lines. On July 12th 1848 Captain Francisco Ramirez led his troops into battle at Nacoochee Creek against United States forces under General Zachary Taylor near present day Mesquite Junction in Clark County., resulting in one Californian dead, three Americans wounded including Ramirez himself (he would later die from his wounds), plus twenty five Apache warriors killed or mortally wounded according to contemporary sources.
