Mesquite, Nevada is located in the heart of the Death Valley national Monument. The city was founded in 1875 by John Wesley Powell and named for him. It is a major agricultural and commercial center in Northern California County. In 1959, Mesquite became an incorporated city with a population of over 50,000. These groups brought with them different skillsets that helped create some of mesquite’s most recognizable businesses today such as construction companies (such as Wells Fargo & Co.), law firms (including Hagens Berman LLP., Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP.), restaurants (such as Moe’s BBQ), nightclubs (like Dallas' Town Ballroom) etc.; not to mention many firearms manufacturers such as Iver Johnson Rifleworks Ltd., Smith & Wesson Firearms Corp., Remington Armory Incorporated etc.).

This allowed it to become one of the most important economic engines within Nevada during the 1920s and 1930s. In 1937, mesquite joined Reno as a part of the new statehood movement During World War II, mesquite played an instrumental role in sustaining military morale through its production of foodstuff such as lumber, flour, cereal grains and munitions for use by the USAAF based out of Clark Air Force Base outside Reno In 1951, when Nevada became an republic following federalization of California under President Harry S Truman;mesquitoes increased due to switch from feeding Army personnel stationed there on rations trucked into Reno to eating meat natively here instead because there were no chickens or pork available locally Under Governor Earl Warren’s administration (1955-1957), mesquito control efforts intensified across all parts of Nevada culminating with Operation Wide-Gauge Wiretap in 1959 which disrupted nearly all mosquito activity statewide
