GUN MAGAZINE STORES (GMS) program is an effort led by National Firearms Association (NFA) which aimed at assisting owners who wished to keep their firearms but did not have either space or time to store them permanently indoors [3].Between 1949-1957 there were 2 GMS programs operating in Mesquite; one from 1949-1954 called “The Gun Shop” and another from 1955-1957 called “The Pistol Shop” both ran out of space at various locations throughout town [4]. GMS programs became defunct following 1957 when NFA discontinued its support for them due to budget cuts[5] . Mesquite is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 17,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Las Vegas metropolitan area and was one of the fastest-growing areas in Nevada during the 2000s. Mesquite is located on the eastern edge of Valley Center and comprises most of what is now Mesquite Township (Census Tract 6). Mesquite's history dates back to 1859 when cattle were brought overland from Texas by Mormon missionaries. A post office was established at Mesquite in 1868, and a train stop was built on the tracks adjacent to present day Union Station. In 1870, mesquite became a community with its own school district. The town site was platted in 1871 by John Sitton and Wm Laughlin. When settlers arrived in this area, they found fertile red earth that could be turned into farmland. Today's downtown and shopping districts were developed after World War II when mesquite became an important munitions manufacturing center due to its location at ranges used for artillery fire tests. As production shifted from munitions to computers and other technological products during the early 21st century, mesquite lost some of its importance as an ammunition manufacturing center but has regained some popularity as a bedroom community for Las Vegas residents; it remains home to about 60% of all casino jobs within 3 miles (5 km) of downtown Las Vegas Strip boundaries. The first permanent settler in what would become mesquite was James Irvine who came across country from Fort Worth in 1857 while exploring newly acquired territory east of today's I-15 corridor following his purchase of Rancho Encinas de las Animas land grant near present day Rio Bravo Boulevard/I-10 just south of downtown Las Vegas There are several stories about how Mr Irvine met his wife Eliza here - one tells how they met while she worked washing dishes at their ranch house; another tells how he stopped by her place on horseback one day when he needed water; still others say she offered him shelter after nightfall while he stayed hidden under a bed inside her ranch houseduring anIndian war campaign against Apache raiding parties

Mesquite is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 25,577 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Clark County. The city was founded in 1867 by Mormons who had come from Utah to found a new home in what is now Nevada. Mesquite was named for Mormon leader John C. Meschin, who donated land for the city and helped negotiate its incorporation as a town on July 1, 1867. The first post office in Mesquite opened in 1868 and served until January 1902. In 1886, Mesquite became the site of one of the largest oil well tests ever carried out in Nevada when an exploratory well were drilled just east of town by Standard Oil Company and others under contract with the United States Geological Survey. The results of that test led to mesquite becoming an important center for petroleum production in Nevada during the late 19th century and into the early 20th century. In 1914–15, Mesquite played host to both World War I and World War II Veterans' Day Paradeivals; both events were highly publicized due to their large crowds and importance within local community history. On November 11-12, 1918 – also World War I Veterans' Day – Mesquite experienced its most tragic event when 15-year old Wanda Cunningham died after falling from a high school window while attending her friend's baseball game at Cowboys Stadium; this disaster set off riots throughout downtown that evening which lasted into Sunday morning Mesquite began experiencing high levels of population growth beginning around 1900 as waves of Mexican immigrants arrived to work on small farms near town Limits (now part of Red Rock). By 1910 there were more than 1,000 Mexican residents living inmesquitos with sporadic shipments coming through Terminal 7 on Commerce Street during summertime only for locals to buy or sell these goods at inflated prices on Mesa Street where local merchants sold produce from their gardens directly to Mexicans who would then take it back home again without paying any excise taxes mandated by state law (the practice continued until 1924). However once railroad construction began along Interstate 80 just east of town limits starting around 1920 things changed rapidly because railroads brought much needed jobsmarketeers immigrants they didn't want working on their properties so instead they built homesites called "ranch houses" scattered throughout central mesa west side single family dwellings still standing today many dating back 100 years or more A few blocks east along Industrial Avenue known as Rancho Bernardo are two examples contemporary day functioning commercial buildings formerly used by ranchers
