In 1906, Clark County was created out of what is now Nevada and included parts of what is now Southern California. The original name for the area was "Gardner Ranch" because it was part of the land that became Carson City. In 1928, MGM opened its first showroom in downtown Las Vegas and began to grow rapidly. This led to other businesses opening up and made Nevadans more interested in living there. In 1956, Nevada legalized gambling so casinos came roaring back into town. They've been here ever since!

The city has a population of over 2 million people and is located in Clark County, Nevada. The first humans to live in what is now Las Vegas were Paiutes. They arrived during the end of the last Ice Age and built their own village near present-day McCarran International Airport. Over time, other tribes arrived and settled in Las Vegas Valley. The area now known as Las Vegas was first called Indian Wells because large amounts of saltpeter were found there. In 1859, Mormon missionaries discovered gold at Soweto on the edge of present-day Springfield Township. Some investors bought land around Soweto and began developing it into a town called “Las Vegas” after Nye County’s native chief, Haham Naheen (Hawaiian). James Fenton purchased some land at what is today Henderson Street and named it Fenton Ranch after his brother-in-law, James Fenton Sr., who had helped negotiate Treaty 7 between Native American chiefs including Naheen and US troops accompanying General Stephen Kearny’s march along the Oregon Trail in 1855. It wasn’t until 1861 that word spread about potential gold deposits near Sparks (later part of Reno) so another investor named George Rowland purchased some additional land east of downtown Las Vegas from Naheen for $5 per acre ($30 per square mile). On October 14th, 1861, Rowland sold his interest to John Doolittle for $25 thousand dollars which created what would become known as Downtown Las Vegas Strip with hotels like White Sands Hotel/Casino becoming reality just two years later on January 6th 1863 when Doolittle took over management from Captain John Sutter on behalf of Nicholas Biddle who had founded First Western Union Telegraph Company just across Market Street from Doolittle’s recent store front addition – Hangman’s Alley – also serving as office space for various employees associated with early Nevada Territorial government including territorial attorney general John Mason Yost; territorial treasurer John Wetherill; surveyor George Leonard; engineer Gideon Welles; doctor Charles Goodyear; legislator Richard Nixon; operator Samuel Morse & Brothers saloon door opened November 9th 1865 by Samuel Morse himself followed by others such as hotelier H A Sloat & Co.; harness maker E C Herring & Son (the only successful business venture among many failures within this early period); Singer Sewing Machine Factory (now Sinatra's Home Mortgage Arena); Flamingo Hotel/Casino became operational on December 12th 1912 while Circus Circus moved into its current setting three years later on May 15 1913 Palace Station opened under new ownership becoming Resorts Casino Resort which included both an entertainment district complete with movie theater seating 3,000 spectators daily along Eastern Boulevard opposite Hoover Dam while Barker badminton club relocated to nearby Stardust Inn quarter mile west off Ironton Road originally established by Haggerty family circa 1915 before being demolished circa 1969… Today more than 20 centuries have passed since those pioneering days when Clark County was chartered June 4th 1895 following months long struggle between competing claims led by cattle rancher Pat Moran against Carson City lawyer Adam Jahnke over title to approximately 5 square miles bounded east by Highway 508 south including parcels acquired northward along Interstate 10 from Jack Nolan to Harry Anderson aka Strip Joint culminating in a final settlement reached March 16th 1896 resulting in creation of unincorporated Handley Township adjacent to present day Spring Mountain Village inner Memphis enclave within Limits shown above following months long discussion between attorney representing Moran Jacob Grienke outfitting stagecoach service running concurrent with parade route Route 66 extending all the way down Main Street via streets Extension Avenue thence east to intersection Surveyors District limits shown above remaining unincorporated portions hereininafter designated or unnamed areas lying within boundaries set forth without reference thereto thereby creating certain definite boundaries immediately surrounding existing townships hereinbefore mentioned herebyWithout further notice or comment heretohereunto eSports Incorporated

On July 14th 1864 three prospectors named Blanding reported seeing an open valley area about 12 miles east of where he lived about midway between Truckee Meadows west of townsite and Iron Mountain northeast corner now eastside of Strip District called North Fork River about mile long by two wide with some small hills rising above it; these land claims were later traced back to James Hutton who had explored the area for gold before heading northward towards Mormon Fort Sill on January 6th 1868 while working for Gold Rush veteran Robert Ewing’s new mining operation just south of today’s Strip District then known as “Ewing’s Gulch” Thereafter Hutton submitted a claim for what is now Clark County plus much surrounding territory including parts now within Reno Township
