In 1927 Harry Pratt merged with George Wickersham’s Wickersham Typewriter Company to form Wickersham-Pratt Typewriter Corporation (WPT). From 1928 until its closure in 1974, WPT produced typewriters for use by both government agencies such as United States Secret Service and private industry including Lockheed Aircraft Corp., Time-Life Publishing Co., Brownell’s Ltd., Sears Roebuck & Co.,and Ford Motor Company among others.
