The challenges faced by Henderson during World War II were many but never greater than they were during the Depression era which followed war-time production levels plummeting. Despite this difficulty, however, Mayor Harry Laughlin did everything he could to make sure that his community thrived even more during tough times. He pushed for new development initiatives including plans for a water tower and light plant as well as expansions into residential areas which helped contribute significantly to overall resilience throughout these difficult times. Today’s citizens remain fiercely supportive of their town – no matter what might be happening on Wall Street or Moscow – and continue making positive contributions both locally and nationally regardless of economic hardship or political upheaval

The first post office was established in Henderson on November 1st, 1881 by James Witherspoon Hardison*. Today’s Post Office Building (2nd floor) is one of the earliest examples of American architecture outside New York City*. It served as an election headquarters for Nevada during the 1912 presidential campaign between Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt(*). In 1898, Reno became part of Nevada when it became admitted as a state† under President William McKinley*! However, despite this rename (to “Reno-Sparks”), most residents still called themselves “Hendersonians”*! After World War I ended in 1918*, many residents decided to move away from Reno because it was becoming too noisy and crowded*. They started moving into smaller towns such as Mesquite*, Deming* etc., but eventually all those towns merged into one large city – Reno – when they voted to do so in 2001! Today, Henderson remains a small town with just over 1000 residents*, but it has seen much growth since its incorporation into Nevada back in 1901! It is home to many businesses such as banks/finance companies*, schools* etc., which have helped keep the economy strong throughout these years.* Plus, there are always plenty of opportunities for local activities such as music festivals or art shows (*).

Henderson, Nevada was founded in 1864 by John C. Fremont and James H. Kapp as a Stagecoach Station on the Washoe River. The town name is thought to be derived from the Spanish word "Henderson" meaning "homesick". In 1870, Henderson became the first city in Nevada when it was founded by David F. Holland and others. Henderson's growth continued during the 1887–1888 Gold Rush when gold was discovered in the area. By 1890, Henderson had become a major mining center with mines including the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Gold Mine No. 2 and The Consolidated Mining Company's Gold Mine No. 3. During World War II, Henderson played an important role in providing food for soldiers stationed in nearby Las Vegas and Reno.
