Carson City, Nevada is a small city in north-central Nevada. The population was 3,812 at the 2010 census. Carson City grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to its location at the head of navigation on the Truckee River and access to natural resources such as gold and silver. Today, Carson City is a bedroom community for Las Vegas and Reno. It has a vibrant cultural life with several award-winning theaters, galleries, restaurants, and nightlife. The first permanent inhabitants of what is now Carson City were Native Americans who called it place where the sun blazed down every day. By 1845 it had become an important fur trading post between California and Oregon. When gold was discovered in 1848 near Bannock Dam), new settlers began flowing into Carson City from all over Nevada to take advantage of this new opportunity for wealth and social advancement. In September 1860, Mormon pioneers arrived in what is now downtown Carson City from Utah via wagon train after successfully overcoming difficult terrain and river crossings on their way to Central Valley settlements such as Springdale (now Provo) and Fillmore (now Laughlin). In 1861 Confederate troops burned down the city’s jail following an attack by local militia against pro-Union forces loyal to Governor John Sutter of Sacramento; this event helped spur development around that time in downtown Carson City including construction of both banks – First National Bank & The Gilded Age Saloon – which remain active today as two major commercial districts within town limits. The area around First National Bank still features some historic buildings dating back to that period including Masons Hall/Bank Building (built 1865), Masonic Temple (1892), Post Office (1898), Southern Pacific Railroad Depot Annex (1913), Western Union Telegraph Station Annex (1914)…..and many more! Downtown also experienced significant growth during World War II with the erection of thousands of temporary wartime housing units known as “Wartime Homes”; however most notably was Second District Headquarters which housed military intelligence operations under General Douglas MacArthur from 1945 until his removal from office in 1951….which left much unfinished business across town! Locations changing hands throughout history have led to changes in economic activity throughout town: first A&P grocery store moved into Downtown in 1967 followed by then current Circle K convenience store on Broadway soon afterward; newly built apartments replaced old motel chains along Center Street between 1995-1998; then came Lefty Gomez’s restaurant when Interstate 40 became available closer to shopping areas outside town…………………………..all while residents continue working hard - literally - 2 blocks away at nearby Black Rock Resort! On July 1st, 2014 Mayor Carolyn Goodman announced plans for a mixed use development called Energy Corridor that would include a hotel/conference center/office complex adjacent to White Sands Missile Range with 565 residential units scheduled for completion by 2020……………..a project currently estimated at $2 billion dollars! stability remains essential as key factors for businesses expanding or relocating within this thriving community economy………………………………………..inducing businesses seeking occupancy or investment are always looking for places where they can feel comfortable providing safe haven during these trying times.................namely things like good customer service quality wage levels along side Visit America Days events each year………………….encompassing 150+ businesses participants

Carson City, Nevada is a small town in Clark County, Nevada. The population was 5,059 at the 2010 census. Carson City is located on the eastern edge of the Mojave Desert and bordered by Interstate 40 to the south and east, State Route 395 to the northwest, and US Forest Service land to the north. It is bordered by Yucca Valley to the west and east, and Clear Creek Canyon to the north-northwest. The first site for what would become Carson City was established in 1864 when gold was discovered in this area. In 1872 it became an incorporated city under a charter from California. The city's first mayor was Wm H. Rice. The city experienced some growth during World War II as it served as a bombing target for Los Angeles; however, it declined after that war ended. In 1951 Carson City annexation referendum passed with 98% of voters supporting annexation into Clark County; however, local officials decided not to move forward with plans because they felt that annexing would make Carson City too competitive with other nearby towns. On July 1, 1959 Carson City became an independent municipality within state control following passage of legislation by then-Governor Jack Lynch allowing states to secede if they feel their laws are being violated by another state government On November 3rd, 1975 Reno amalgamated with CarsonCity becoming one community governed by a single board of directors
