Boulder City is a small town in Clark County, Nevada, located on the eastern edge of the Las Vegas metropolitan area. It is bordered by Mesquite to the north, North Las Vegas to the east and south, and Boulder City to the west. The population was 9,826 at the 2010 census. The name "Boulder City" may be derived from an early Mormon settler's name for what is now downtown Reno - "Havasu Valley".[1] The first post office in Boulder City was established on November 3, 1887,[2] and it became a city on December 15, 1912.[3] In 1907-1908 there were only two businesses in downtown Boulder City: The Masonic Temple and J.C. Penney's Store #5.[4][5] However, during that time Downtown Reno had over 100 businesses due to its booming economy as a result of California Gold Rush mining activity throughout most of central Nevada. By 1912 there were more than 20 downtown businesses including banks (twelve of them national), six hotels/motels (including three star InterContinental Hotels), theaters (three movie theaters),[6] grocery stores (five large chains including Safeway and Kroger supermarkets), four lumber yards,[7] two radio stations,[8][9][10] one Television station KCRA-TV[11], one insurance company[12], ten restaurants with seating for up to 350 people apiece,[13][14][15], twelve bowling alleys,[16],[17]) as well as seventy-six private residences totaling 2 million dollars ($20 million at current values)[18]. On July 14, 1925 local citizens voted not to annex into CarsonCity after protesting against Proposition 10 which would have created Greater Las Vegas as a separate city with voting rights equal to those of Boulder City residents; however they did so because they wanted their own elected officials who could represent their interests when dealing with government officials within Greater Las Vegas. In 1941 Boulder City annexed into nearby NorthLasVegas through annexation agreement between both municipalities without any vote by local residents; NorthLasVegas had long been desired by locals due to its proximity to Reno and other key cities in Northern Nevada while being relatively unincorporated compared to many other towns in Clark County. In 1959 NorthLasVegas incorporated as an independent city under the laws of neighboring CarsonCity while still keeping its municipal boundaries unchanged; this gave rise to some confusion since both cities are considered part of Clark County despite having different namesakes

Boulder City is a small city in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Las Vegas metropolitan area and is situated on the eastern edge of Boulder City proper. The first people to live in what is now Boulder City were Paiute Indians who hunted and fished in the local rivers and lakes. In 1863, Brigham Young traveled through this area on his way from Salt Lake City to California and ordered all Indian inhabitants of Nevada to leave their homes or face extermination. Because they could not afford to leave, many Native American people living in what is now Boulder City returned to their traditional ways after Young's orders were rescinded. In 1875, Charles Pratt established a mercantile business in what is now downtown Boulder City as part of an attempt to start a new town along the railroad tracks that ran through town center. This venture failed because of lack of interest from investors and competition from other towns that had been established near las Vegas by then. However, Pratt's experience as an entrepreneur made him a major player in early economic development in this area. The first post office for Boulder City was founded on January 6, 1887; it was called "Newburgh". The name change came about because nearby Reno had already been renamed Reno-Sparks before it became a city). In 1907, voters passed an ordinance authorizing the erection of a school building (the first public school opened in western Nevada) which served as the nucleus for future adult education opportunities within town limits. During World War II (1939-1945), BoulderCity became one of several areas within Clark County designated as military training camps due to its strategic location midway between Las Vegas and Reno on both sides of Interstate 15 (later known as I-15/Urus). These camps functioned as naval airfields during World War II providing storage facilities for aircraft while also providing housing for troops until they could be deployed elsewhere. Although most soldiers spent only brief periods inside these camp boundaries while on maneuvers or training exercises outside those boundaries; some long term residents did manage temporary residency here during wartime due to shortages available anywhere else within Clark County at that time including jobs or housing developments outside of camp boundaries accessible only by car or bus transferring into/out of campgrounds located just beyond camping areas bordering Camp Century Army Reserve Basecamp east thereof – typically stretching less than 2 miles wide (. . .)

In 1853, the first permanent settlers in Boulder City settled on a rancho that was located on the east side of the Little Colorado River. The land was offered to them by Captain John C. Fremont for $4,000. In 1865, Brigham Young and his followers founded the Mormon Church in what is now Salt Lake City. They soon outgrew their original home, so they built a larger fortification called Fort Bridger on upper Nevada Mesa. The Mormons also built an LDS temple onsite and named it after themselves – Brigham Young Temple.
