In 2000 about 9 out of 10 people identified themselves as Protestant.[14][15] In 2002 Boulder City had a new city council when it merged with nearby Centennial Heights to form one city government with a combined population size greater than both cities' populations but below their jurisdictional boundaries due to lack of voter approval for that merger; however this authority remained exercisable by either city government until 2003 when it passed into the hands of Centennial Heights officials upon its incorporation into Boulder City proper. In 2006 residents voted to make separation between Centennial Heights and Boulder City permanent through referendum results which showed 63 percent support for making separating the two municipalities as formalized law while only 31 percent favored retaining status quo ante within Boulder City limits

Boulder City, Nevada was founded in 1864 by Jedediah Smith and his partners, George Hearn and John Reynolds. The town’s name is derived from the nearby mountain, Boulder Peak. Morgan & Co., who also constructed several stores including the First National Bank building which still stands today (now part of Pershing Square). In 1911, when Las Vegas emerged as a new commercial capital due to its location at the intersection of Interstate 15 and Route 66 (then called "The Strip"), Denver-based businessman Charles Wolkowitz decided to move his business operations to Carson City because he saw potential for growth there given its well-developed public infrastructure such as water systems and schools. Wolkowitz began developing what would eventually become known as Wolkowitz Tower – now part of Downtown Las Vegas – into one ofLas Vegas’ most iconic tourist attractions. During World War II, both Colorado Springs industrialists Roy Hilliard (the father of modern day Hollywood)and Ralph Horseshoeing contributed money towardsfitting American soldiers with uniforms at Fort Donelson Barracks before they were deployed to fight in Europe during World War II under Operation Overlord – later renamed V-E Day – which marked America’s entry into World War II . After war ended hostilities in 1945, many business owners returned home to start anew but some remained behind such asRoy Hilliard who continued donating funds towards military equipment replacement programs until his death in 1984 . In 1957–58 , boulder city experienced its first urban sprawl when developers started building apartment buildings along Pahrump Road outside of town limits while plans were being made to remake downtown into an exciting nightlife area anchored by MGM Grand Garden Arena becoming reality In response growth stalled resulting in high levels OF traffic congestion on major arterial streets leading up key casinos like Caesars Palace or MGM Grand while residents were left without basic services like water or sewer lines
