Following World War II most residents returned home except for a few who took up residence in other towns within Nebraska or Iowa due to changing demographics and technological advances that made farming more difficult; however, some remain today in rural areas scattered throughout western Nebraska near cities such as Kearney and Omaha where they still farm land using traditional methods including hand plowing and hoeing with animals instead of machines. In 1950 most residents voted to change their name from Granbury to Scottsbluff because they believed that this would be more reflective of their community's history and location - since Granbury lay just east of what is now downtown Scottsboro while Scottsbluffle sat on top of a small mountain reaching out into Kearney county - both communities had long been known as part of one entity despite having different namesakes (Granbury being located about 25 miles northwest of Kearney while Scotts Bluffer about 150 miles southwest). A referendum held two years later resulted in even more choice - with over 90% voting against changing their name back again to Granbury after getting feedback that people still wanted it associated with ScotTSBlUFF rather than just "ScottsblUFF". Today, many people living outside of town maintain connections through social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter which allows them access to updates about life within town limits without leaving their homes
