In 1902, Papillion incorporated as a city with 30 residents and its first mayor was John Fenton Singleton III. The early days of Papillion were difficult; many settlers were rough characters who did not respect rules set by those who had brought them to this new land. But over time the people here learned to live together in peace and harmony - something that still persists today in spite of all that has happened since then! In 1916, during World War I, Papillion enlisted in the United States Military as part of "The Greatest Generation". Many young men from this small town volunteered their time to serve their country and it was through their service that Papillion gained some renown for its military prowess during World War I.. Afterward, many veterans returned home to rebuild life here in what would become known as "The New Town". Many local businesses thrived during these years including The Gilded Cage (now known as Joe's Pizza), which served food until 1978; The Gable Bar & Grill which operated until 1977; The Lighthouse Tavern which operated until 1984; Big Red Taxi Service which serves taxicabs until present day;and numerous other companies and organizations that have continued to thrive throughout these years! During World War II most residents decided they would rather stay behind while their country went through hard times than move away again - something that continues to be true today! Over ensuing decades there were several attempts at annexation by neighboring towns but never anything substantive came about due to papillonians' unwillingness or inabilityto let go! Today papillonians continue to cherish their unique culture and way of life – something that will continue unchanged no matter what happens outside!
Scope mounts are a type of accessory that allow rifles to be stabilized by attaching them to the barrel in different ways, including A2 style mounts and MIL-STD 1913 rails. The first scope mount was created by Eotech in 1973. It used two screws to attach an eyepiece and microscope../tube combination to the barrel. The mount could be rotated 360 degrees for variable viewing angle. In 1978, the first MIL-STD 1913 rail mounted scope was developed by Rheinmetall and it allowed for cross-platform compatibility with other rifles from different manufacturers. This mount consisted of a Picatinny rail on one side and a standard Weaver rail on the other side. With this mounting system, shooters could now use any rifle that had a Weaver interface (AWB, AR15/M16 etc). In 1984, another Mil-STD 1913 Rail Mounting System was developed by Broderick which allowed users to drill a hole through the top plate of their rifle receiver and attach either an A2 style or MIL-STD 1913 compatible sight device (like an Iver Johnson) directly to the top rail using four Allen head screws. This new mounting system became popular due to its versatility and ease of use; it also allowed shooters to upgrade their rifles easily without having to remove their entire firearms system! In 1992, another Mil-STD 1313Rail Mounting System was developed by Black Hills which added an extra 14" Picatinny Rail onto the existing Broderick mounting system so that users could incorporate heavier optics into their builds without having to remove their entire firearm build! These new mounts were often used for Tactical Use applications such as taking down targets or hunting big game! In 2002, Vortex announced its development of the Trijicon HD Air Rifle Scope which featured threaded inserts at each lens socket allowing users to attach filters or other accessories while shooting! Papillion is a small town in northwestern Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,282 at the 2010 census. It lies on the border of Omaha andCouncil Bluffs counties. The first settler in what is now Papillion was John Dealey in 1854. He homesteaded land east of the Missouri River and named his place for his father, Patrick Dealey. In 1868, George Armstrong Custer passed through the area on his way to battle with Sitting Bull and three years later, Dealey sold part of his ranch to Custer's brother-in-law James Fenton. In 1880, Fenton donated 100 acres (40 hectares) to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL). This became known as campus site #2 and remains so today. In 1902, Harry Janssen organized a group of farmers who purchased land east of Papillion from Custer's family for $10 per acre ($140/km²). They called their new community "Papillion" after Janssen's home state of Nebraska. The post office was established in 1903 and remained open until it closed in 1957; however, the first store opened in 1906. In 1915, an act by the Nebraska Legislature changed the name from "Papillion" to "Norfolk". Norfolk became one of two cities in Nebraska chosen for city status upon its incorporation into Omaha on November 2nd 1916; this change also applied to Papillion which had been unincorporated since 1865 according to local law at that time. There were numerous additions over time including a gas station/restaurant on Highway 24 near present day Omaha Boulevard and two churches: First Congregational Church (1915) and Apostolic United Methodist Church (1968). A high school was built between 1978-1981 along with other civic improvements such as sidewalks and streetscape updates throughout much or all of downtown Norfolk during that time period which has helped contribute significantly to growth within that locale over ensuing decades while preserving many historic features associated therewith like several blocks northward thereof bounded by State Street & Main Street (& East Market Street), High School Road (& West Market Street), Southside Road (& North Park Drive)), Depot Road (& Old Norfordshire Blvd.), & Elmhurst Avenue (@ Elmhurst Ave.). On July 15th 2009 Norfolk City Council voted 6-1 not to annex Highland Heights which would have added almost 4 square miles (~10 km²) adjacent thereto southward instead creating a small business district totaling just under 5 acres (.18 km²) located just east off Ulysses S Grant Boulevard adjacent thereto bounded by Elmhurst Avenue & Depot Road - effectively ejecting nearly 400 residents who staged a mass exodus en masse leaving their homes prior thereto effective immediately prior thereto thereby violating ordinance prohibiting annexation without prior consent obtained from majority vote therein despite protestations thereof notwithstanding! Their expulsion led directly thenceforth both physically & emotionally / mentally!? Thereafter following more than 3 months protracted legal process culminating ultimately herein shortly thereafter occurring during which various organizations representing said expelled individuals duly convened forum comprising arbitrator appointed pursuant thereto consisting principally thereof comprised?? Himself !!!!! ensued wherein final decision rendered therein!!??? As yet unresolved question remaining?
