In 1913, Smith & Wesson introduced what is called the "Baby Face" revolver which featured a pistol grip with a comfortable fit for users of all sizes. pistols were also available with non-pistol style grips beginning in 1916. With handguns becoming more popular along with increased ammunition availability, companies began creating different types of gun grips including those made from rubber or plastic materials for easier grasping and handling during storage or transportation

Additionally there are dozens of smaller colleges/universities scattered throughout Buena Vista County offering associate degrees in arts & science; business & economics; engineering; justice & policy; language arts/linguistics/literature/theatre; social work; health sciences etc.. The community spirit within North Platte is evident from its diverse cultural attractions which include art galleries containing works by local artists along with beer gardens that allow people to enjoy refreshments while taking pictures of the scenery across the creek below; music festivals such as GrangeFest each year during summertime which attracts thousands of people from all over Nebraska who attend various events headlined by popular acts such as country music stars Trace Adkins Band And Miranda Lambert headlined by state dignitaries like Governor Dave Heineman With live band concerts also held each year at venues around town during winter months showcasing toplocal talent like big band favorites Duke Ellington Orchestra And Bluegrass greats like Joe Bonamassa And Jerry Lee Lewis round out an annual calendar of events that make up "Platine Fest."

North Platte was founded in 1854 by the Nebraska Territorial Legislature as the towns of Kearney, North Platte and Columbus. The name "north" came from the fact that it was north of Iowa Territory's eastern border. The towns were named for important geographical features on either side of the Missouri River: Kearney to the east, North Platte to the west and Columbus to the south.
