Norfolk, Nebraska is a small town located in the midwest. The population was 5,901 at the 2010 census. It is one of four towns in Douglas County and it is part of the Omaha-Council Bluffs, IA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The other three towns are Lincoln, Omaha and Bellevue. Norfolk was founded by Germans in 1879 as a farm community. The first gun shop opened there in 1885. GunOwner's Gun Faire has been held annually in Norfolk since 1986. The original guns used for hunting were muzzleloaders dating back to before around 1850. Muzzleloader bullets were made from lead or bronze and had a hardwood core surrounded by a soft lead or bronze jacket that would expand when fired which caused an indentation on the outside of the bullet case where it hit bone or other hard object). After about 1860 handguns started becoming popular so more reloadable rounds became available and this allowed for handguns to become more lethal with each shot (This also led to pistols becoming popular). Handguns remained popular until after World War II when they started being replaced by rifles due to advances in technology (This also led to mass shootings such as Sandy Hook)). In 1955 NFA regulations were passed increasing restrictions on carrying handguns without a license while later adding nuclear weapons into the mix (This also led to stricter gun control laws)). The current gun grip history in Norfolk can be traced back to 1917 when Norwalk Armory purchased two shotguns from Bendix Arms Company (Bendix was acquired by Winchester Repeating Arms Company) and reassembled them into what is now known as Model 1908 shotgun grips/stocks (Winchester Repeating Arms Company was formed from several companies that merged during World War I)). The Model 1908 shotgun grips/stocks are still widely used today with various firearms including revolvers, pistols and rifles throughout America).

The ball would be stored inside the handle and released when needed to fire the weapon. This type of grip remained popular into the 18th century when pistols began being produced in greater numbers than gunsights. Pistol Grip with Handgun Stock This typeof pistol grip is typically used with handguns that feature handstocks (which allow you to hold your weapon steadier). These stocks were developed during World War II to help shooters maintain control over their firearms while under fire from artillery or other ground targets. A standard pistol grip without a stock will usually only accommodate pistols weighing less than 8 ounces (250 grams).

Norfolk was founded in 1881 by Englishmen as a trading post on the Missouri River. It became a U.S. military base during World War II and played an important role in the war effort as a refueling stop for American bombers and fighter planes. In 1951, Norfolk was renamed to honor General George S Hill (1865-1953) who served as Commanding General of United States Army Forces Europe from 1951 to 1953 and helped lead NATO's Battle of Arnhem which ended British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's campaign for total victory over Nazi Germany. After Hill's death, Norfolk was again renamed to honor him when it became known as George S Hill Boulevard in 1954. In 1987, Norfolk joined the city of Omaha after being annexed by that city. As Omaha grew more populous and its economy changed, so did Norfolk; however, Norwich remains its primary economic center with several businesses existing since before1900 including Norwalk Cheese Factory which opened in 1887 and still manufactures cheese today under the name of Norwalk Dairy; Norwich Millinery; The Hague Store; Norwich Savings Bank & Trust Company; The First National Bank of Norwich (founded 1865); The Norwich Arts Guild (founded 1945); Nichols Chapel (established 1888). During the past few decades, many other businesses have also closed or been replaced by newer ones due to changing industries or competition from neighboring cities such as Omaha or Lincoln. Despite these changes, Norwich remains an extremely rural community with most residents living within 1½ miles of their churches or schools. In recent years there has been some redevelopment taking place in addition to traditional farming practices resulting in an increase in agricultural production particularly corn and beans; however, most residents remain largely self-sufficient via subsistence agriculture while still enjoying access to basic services such as water supply and transportation through local roads not related to Interstate Highway 20 which separate Norwich from neighboring townships like Omaha and Lincoln
Norfolk was settled in 1867 by the Nebraska Territorial Legislature. The town was named after Capt. John Norfolk, a Confederate officer who fought for the Union during the American Civil War. The first store in Norfolk opened in 1868 and it remained a small town until it became a city on November 3, 1907.
