Kearney is a city in Kearney County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kearney County. The first settler in Kearney was Wm. Halsey and his family who arrived on the steamboat Missouri in 1846. They built a log cabin near the current site of town and named it "Halsey's Cabin." The town was platted in 1868 by Jno. Atherton and named for him, Halsey Station. In 1870 Major George Burtz built a toll road from Kearney to Omaha to increase traffic on the Missouri River and name the road after himself, Burtz Boulevard. In 1872 Wm. Pohlman settled along what is now Main Street in Kearney; he named it Park Heights after his home state of Illinois (now part of Illinois). By 1890 there were over 20 businesses operating in Kearney with a population of around 1,500 people! In 1901 Kearney became an incorporated city with a population of 6,000 people! By 1910 there were over 50 businesses operating with a population of over 10,000 people! In 1916 when World War I began America declared war on Germany; as part of this declaration all citizens were ordered to report to their respective military posts within 72 hours or face arrest! Assembling at City Hall downtown everyone had just enough time to take out their patriotism pins before they had to head into their barracks! The first day nearly every man had one!

The modern era of binocular manufacturing began with the development of high-quality wide-angle eyeglasses in the early 21st century which led to an increased demand for precision instruments such as binoculARS from commercial users as well as amateur astronomers around the world.

Kearney, Nebraska is a small town in Kearney County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. The Kearney community began to form in 1872 when people from neighboring towns moved to the area in search of new land to farm. By 1890, the population had grown to 1,010 and by 1910 it had reached 1,500. In 1916, Kearney became an incorporated municipality and has since experienced rapid growth. The first settler in what is now Kearney was James Reese who arrived in 1871. He named his land “Kearney” after his home town of Chaseville, Illinois where he also lived for a time before moving northwestward into central Nebraska Territory. Other early settlers included John Hutton and George Waggoner who both arrived around 1875; they named their property “Hutton Hill” after their homes near London England where they were born and raised. In 1906, the Panic of 1907 struck America causing a recession that impacted many small towns across the country including Kearny which lost many residents and businesses during this time period. However, due to its location adjacent to Omaha City Limits – an enclave within Omaha – Kearny continued to grow largely unscathed until 1912 when it officially incorporated as a city under the name of Omaha-Council Bluffs Municipal Corporation with a population of 2,000 residents (it had only 1,000 residents when incorporation took place). During World War I (1914-18), Kearny served as one of five cities located along the Great Lakes region whose citizens volunteered for military duty on various fronts throughout Europe as well as Siberia and China/Burma during World War I; this was unprecedented for any American city at that time or since! For its services rendered during these hostilities – most notably producing munitions for use on the battlefields – Kearney received numerous awards such as being selected “the best financed city byAmount furnished munitions exceeds all other communities engaged therein” according to post war study prepared by US Army Air Service inspector General Hugh Laddick II.. Following World War I ended there was significant development occurrently within both local government structures particularly within municipal corporations like those aforementioned within Omaha- Council Bluffs Municipal Corporation while also taking place outside thereof such as through acts such as passage of legislation establishing county governments which would eventually come about followingWorld War II... ensuingenterprise tanker trucking Although originally developed primarily for agricultural purposes due lack thereof available water resources; over time this service has been extended beyond agriculture into more commercial sectors resulting in increased traffic congestion issue currently facing downtown areas adjacent Interstate 80 although authorities are working towards solution
Kearney was founded in 1854 by George Kearney and his brother, Abraham. The town was originally named Pawnee City after a Sioux chief who had been killed in battle. The Kearneys moved to the town in 1859, and it became their home for the rest of their lives. In 1902, the town was renamed Kearney after General George S. Patton, commander of American forces during World War II.
