The Wilson family operated the store until 1945 when it was sold to P G Barnes & Co who renamed it Barnes Bullets Incorporated. After World War II, Barnes Bullets became a subsidiary of Brownells Incorporated which is now CBS Corporation In 1955, Wm M Wittmann purchased the business from Brownells Incorporated and reopened it as Wittman’s Ammo Company Ltd In 1988, Bartlett Holdings (a holding company) acquired Wittman’s Ammo Company Ltd then merged with Remington Arms Company After Bartlett Holdings merged with Reynolds Arms Company, the name changed back to Remington Arms Company again

Kearney is a town in Kearney County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,954 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Omaha Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Kearney were John and Rebecca Cook who arrived in 1858. They built a log cabin on the east side of the Missouri River. In 1870, J.W. McCormick and his brother-in-law William Hodge moved to Kearney from Illinois and started a small mercantile business which prospered for many years. In 1892, Wm. Higginson bought the McCormick store and continued to run it until his death in 1925. He was succeeded by his son Franklin Higginson who operated it until 1978 when it was sold to Harry Singson Jr.. In 1916, two brothers, George and Clarence Beavers purchased land near what is now Kearney High School along with six other farmers to form the nucleus of what would become Kearney Township. The Beavers donated land for a school district that opened in 1922 and named it after them; however, these donations never came close to covering all of the expenses associated with developing the new school district which required additional fundraising effort over time including contributions from individuals as well as businesses within their township framework such as General Mills Paper & Food Company (now Kraft Heinz), Edwin Ladd’s grocery store (later Empire Drugs), etcetera. In 1938 Driggs Vining became head teacher for North Central School District No 4 followed by Mrs Florence Ewing as Headmistress from 1942 through 1959 before moving back into private practice until her retirement in 1979; she had been assistant headmistress at North Central since 1934 prior to becoming headmistress there full-time). Mrs Florence Ewing played an important role during World War II both as an American Air Force woman serving in England while also working part-time at North Central providing shelter for refugees arriving on Manhattan Beach; she later served as interim superintendent following Driggs Vining’s death on November 15th 1944 due to leukemia when he was only 53 years old) . Today Kearney is home to many small businesses providing essential services like plumbing supplies orsheet metal fabrication/repairing etc., helping keep local economies strong while preserving some aspect of its century-old history

Kearney, Nebraska is a small town in Kearney County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 582 at the 2010 census. The community was founded by Mormons in 1879. It has been reported that Kearney may have originated from the same word as Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Kearsarge meaning "a post" or "a mound." In 1879, Mormon pioneers arrived in Kearney and began to build what would become a small town. The first store was built on the north side of the tracks and it was owned by John Witherspoon. By 1880, there were six businesses in Kearney with a total population of just over 100 people. The early settlers were farmers who grew corn, wheat and other crops. When railroads came through Kearny they became very important to the town's economy because they allowed goods to be shipped throughout the region much faster than could be done using horses and wagons. Over time, some of the original pioneer families also moved away and Others returned to take advantage of new opportunities created by industry and transportation development within the area. In 1911, when National Defense Highway No 7 (later Interstate 15) was being built through central Nebraska, Kearney became a major stop for motorists traveling southward from Omaha. This provided an impetus for development within the town as well as growth outside of it which continues to this day; most notably an African American business district that sprang up around Big Nine Shopping Center on State Street in downtown Kearney after World War II ended full of black Americans displaced by war-time housing shortages elsewhere in central Nebraska
Kearney was founded in 1867 by John Kearney, a Mexican American. The town rapidly grew and soon became the largest in Nebraska. In 1902, Kearney was renamed for General George Custer after he died in battle.
