This business was started primarily for selling firearms but also served as a training ground for many local rifle shooters. In 1951, Wehner donated all his weapons collection to Hastings State University, where it currently resides. Hastings, Nebraska is a small town located in the far east side of Nebraska. It is known for its post office and the Hastings High School which is one of the most popular high schools in the area. The town was founded by Norwegian immigrants in 1868. It has a population of around 1,500 people. The first post office in Hastings was established in 1868 and it served as the only stop on the trip from Omaha to Hastings. The first mail carrier was John D’Angelo who took delivery from a wagon on July 3, 1868. The first postmaster was Mr. Merrill and he served until 1870 when he moved to Nevada City to be closer to his family. In 1872, Mr. Merrill donated land for a new Post Office which opened its doors on October 12th. Hastings had two stores at that time and one house which served as the Post Office until 1915 when it became an academy building with grades 9-12 serving as classrooms and administrative offices during school hours while students were attending other activities such as dances or plays inside their homes while their mothers cooked dinner outside their homes using woodfired ovens or gas ranges heat up food over open fires before placing it on wooden boards covered with canvas so that children could see what they were eating without getting sick) Hastings experienced some growth between 1915-1920 when two churches were built within town limits; First Congregational Church (built 1912) and Second Methodist Episcopal Church (1915). This area would eventually become home to both Hastings High School and neighboring Roosevelt University . The original Legislative Building designed by architect George Brougham still stands today providing instruction space for legislators during floor debates although its use has been limited since 1975 due largely to budget restraints . Production ceased at Nebraskas Capitol Park effective January 1st 1976 having been hampered by expenses related primarily to grasshopper infestation which caused significant damage including loss of electrical power necessary for essential functions throughout much of campus . By 1978, there was no longer enough money available from appropriations provided through regular state funding streams nor did Lansing afford sufficient resources within its own city limits just south thereof so all production stopped leaving Hastings without any form of support or educational assistance resultant making life difficult including mass displacement among previously rural communitiesflushting out entire downtown areas%c2%b0
