Jensen also developed land east of village boundaries which continues to be used today for agricultural purposes by local farmers as well as hosting several small businesses; these include a hardware store (closed 2007), a farm supply store (closed 2009), and an RV dealership (closed 2011). One major event that took place during earlyhistoric times on Grand Island takes note: On July 14th 1870 two cannons were fired into the air from the Stevenson House located across High Street from present day VillageEast Elementary School while residents assembled for Independence Day celebrations marking their new statehood! This marks not only one instance when live ammunition had been discharged within city limits but also one notable event which led directly to increased tourism opportunities for locals during this time period - visitors could now wander around freely without fear of being arrested or shot at!
