The grip consisted of two pieces: a cylindrical piece that held the gun's barrel and an ergonomic handle that allowed users to manipulate the firearm. This new grip quickly gained popularity and became known as the Nourse Grip. It remained popular until around 1915 when another person invented a design that replaced it entirely- the Parker Grip. This grip consisted of three parts: an ergonomic handle, which was placed over the barrel; a cylindrical piece that fit into recesses on either side of the handle; and a strap which connected these two parts together. The Parker Grip remained popular until around 1930 when another person invented yet another design-the Krieger Grip. This grip consisted of only one part: an ergonomic handle, which was placed over the barrel instead of above it like the original Nourse Grip did. It also had different straps which allowed users to adjusting how tight or loose they needed it to be so they could shoot accurately with their firearms. The Krieger Grip also became popular until about 1940 whenanother person invented yet another design-the Keltec Clip-On Pistol Grips*. In 1854, James Fenton and his wife Sarah Stephenson decided to move to the area and started farming what is now Grand Island. At that time, it was much smaller than it is today; only 1/4 mile wide at its widest point! The railroad played an important role in making Grand Island a thriving community during its early years; many jobs were created as workers walked or took trains to local factories for goods they needed for their homes and businesses. The railway also helped increase trade between the towns along the Missouri River which contributed significantly to both economy and social life on Grande Isle at that time (and still does today). The town quickly grew into something more than just a farm village; it became known as "the agrarian center of western Nebraska." Many residents worked together in cooperatives or gangs to tend crops, build roads, erect schools and other infrastructure projects throughout the 1920s-30s – all while keeping their families together amidst difficult times such as droughts, famines and World War II shortages (in which many locals joined up with U S Military service)). Today, there are few traces remaining of those earlier years; most residents now live within walking distance of grocery stores or employment opportunities outside their hometowns (although some continue living on properties dating back hundreds of years!). Still though, grandiose visions remain: A streetcar line connecting downtown Omaha with rural parts east of Omaha has been proposed but never built...or at least not seriously promoted...a project currently languishing in limbo despite recent investment from former Mayor Dave Heineman (D) - who once chaired electric utilities deregulation commission responsible for securing this line). Despite these challenges though – combined with continued growth rates seen across much larger communities like Omaha – many people here know howto make do without modern amenities like electricity or water thanks largely to generations of hard work ethic dashed dreams! As mentioned earlier – due largely to itsRailroad Industry roots – Grande Isle remained relatively unaffected by both global financial crashes nor housing market booms & busts that have bedeviled other American communities since before NAFTA & assorted waves thereof… even still retaining some cultural nods & shared traditions thruout decades despite MtnLiving having supplanted them completely….still going about OUR day-to-day lives hassle free (& sometimes easier ‘cause we don’t have cell phones)!!!

Grand Island, Nebraska is a small town in Kearney County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Missouri River and is part of the Omaha metropolitan area. The community was founded by Germans in 1849. The first settler on Grand Island was Wilhelm Wehner. He built a cabin on what is now the eastern edge of town. In 1850, Hermann Schmidt and his family moved to Grand Island from their farm in Fremont County, Nebraska. Captain John Fetterman and his crew of men were the first white settlers to arrive in what is now Kearney County. They arrived on October 12, 1851, during the Mexican-American War; they had been sent by General Zachary Taylor as an escort mission to scout for new land for American settlers. In 1854, John Wittek settled on a tract of land that he purchased from Chief Joseph Custer near present-day Bellevue Avenue and State Street in central Grand Island. Wittek named his property "Wittek's Landing." During its early years, Grand Island had only five buildings: two stores and three homes—all built by German immigrants who came to the area during this time period. In 1861–1862, Samuel Armistead opened a ferry service between Great Falls (now Omaha) and Little Sioux City (now Council Bluffs), Iowa; passengers could cross over the Missouri River at Grand Isle Ferry landing on either side of the river for about $1 per person per day when it operated primarily seasonally only from late May through early October.. On November 14th 1870 – following a meeting held atthe Methodist Episcopal Church located east of present day West Main Street – landowners Grant Guthrie (of Kearney County) and John Hargrave organized into a township called "Grant Township" which became effective February 1st 1871 with boundaries defined as follows: beginning at mile post number 2½ south of Kansas line thence due east 100 yards; thence north 100 yards to intersection with state line; thence due west 3 miles; touchdown or original point where state line intersects said US national highway 1…. In 1867, a group of settlers from Illinois arrived on the small island off the Nebraska shore. The men built a small log cabin and began to farm the land. In 1870, they planted corn and beans on the island, and in 1875, they started to raise cows. In 1917, their son Abram opened a grocery store on Grand Island. In 1922, he developed a dry goods store onto the property that still stands today. Abram's grandson, Glen Eden (1927-2006), founded Eden Prairie Farms in 1948 and ran it until his death in 2006.
