On November 10th, 1911, a rifle called the Dillon rifle was made with a red dot sight. This rifle was used by military personnel during World War I. On February 15th, 1912, the first pistol shop in town opened and it was run by J.W. Brownell and his son W H Brownell Jr.. The Brownells continue to operate this business until 1926 when it closed down due to financial troubles. In 1928, another gun store called the Gunsmith’s opened up and it operated for many years until it closed in 1984. In 1986, a new gun store called Red Dot started up and it operated for many years until it closed down in 2001.
