Ammunition has a long and varied history in Fremont, Nebraska. The city was first settled by people of American Indian descent in the early 1800s, and soon became an important center for gunsmithing and ammunition production. In 1875, Fremont became the capital of Nebraska, and its arsenal quickly became one of the most advanced in the state. By 1903, however, gunfire had become so endemic in Omaha that the Armory began developing plans to build an own armory in Fremont. During World War II, the armory operated under various names including Regal Arms Company (later NAPA) until it was closed permanently by decree of President Harry S Truman on December 15th, 1945. Today remnant of the building still stands vacant within sight of downtown Fremont but is not being used for any purposes whatsoever.

This company produced munitions such as shot, powder, cannon balls, rounds of cartridge ammunition, lotteries tickets for sporting events involving these goods (e.g., horse races), and other items related to munitions production such as toolboxes for shooters/gunsmiths/shotyers etc., among others things In 1904-1905 the company moved from their original location on Third Street to what is now First Avenue South in downtown Fremont In 1907-1908 they moved again to Second Street near the State Capitol Building In 1909-1910 they moved once again to Fourth Street near Masonic Lodge #3 where they remained until 1971 when they merged with Midwest Arms Manufacturing Co . Midwest Arms Manufacturing Co . produces various types of firearms ammo products including rifle rounds (bullet cartridges), shotgun rounds ( slug cartridges), pistol rounds (firearm round projectiles with lead cores that travel at high speeds through air or water droplets to create an intense muzzle flash fire), handgun rounds (firearm round projectiles having cores made out of materials like plastics that allow them to penetrate armor) as well as reloading supplies
