The American Revolution: During the American Revolution (1775-1783), members of Congress passed a resolution calling for all Americans to possess “a due number” of rifle cartridges “to be used against their enemies within our own country [sic]” The result was the powder seized from British forces during the revolution which formed the basis for many revolutionary munitions including cannonballs and rockets! This new ammo helped support America's war effort as she waged her fight against her rival Great Britain - thanks in part to Winchester's exceptional products! From 1775-1783, many people in Fremont worked arduously day and night producing these high quality munitions needed for America's cause! In fact, many residents still live in town today because they appreciate how tireless these folks were during those challenging times!

Fremont is a small town in Nebraska, located on the Republican River. The population was 3,811 at the 2010 census. Fremont is part of the Fremont-Onawa Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fremont were travelers of the Mormon Battalion during the 1847 winter expedition across Nebraska Territory from Utah. They named their new station Cottonwood and built a small fortification there to await news of their probable destination, which they did not receive until after they had crossed the Great Plains and wintered in Illinois. In 1861, while Nebraska was still part of Iowa Territory, Mormons fleeing Nauvoo set out for Fremont with 180 men under Captain J.D. Pettigrew as their guide and leader John Capps as interpreter and scribe (Capps died shortly before reaching Fremont). On arrival at Cottonwood Station, Pettigrew discovered that he had been followed by troops loyal to Brigham Young who were planning to seize his wagon train and take him back to Nauvoo. He abandoned his followers at Cottonwood Station then made his way back to Omaha where he reported this event to President Abraham Lincoln who ordered General George Armstrong Custer's army not to cross into Iowa Territory but march through it eastward on its way westward across Kansas into Colorado territory in order "to put an end" (quoted in Edwin Brewer p101) once and for all to these Mormons so that they might be deported back home or killed if found living thereabouts; this order never came through however because a group led by Logan reached Omaha just before Custer's column arrived there.] In 1865, when Nebraska became part of United States via the 14th Amendment statehood movement it absorbed Fremont along with many other towns within its boundaries south of Dodge City including Onawa, Raymond City, Merrillville, Sparta Heights and West Burlington]. In 1870 Fenton County was organized from portions of Wayne County] These days much has changed since those early days when Fremont consisted primarily of loggers' camps scattered around deep rolling hills watered by creeks running off headwaters of rivers such as Missouri River or Platte River.] The first post office in Fremont was established in 1877.] Today most people would say that what we know today about our little town originated with one man: Hyrum Smith who started homesteading here some time after 1840.」

Fremont is a city in Nebraska, United States. The population was 15,435 at the 2010 census. Fremont is the county seat of Fremont County. It lies on the west bank of the Missouri River and has an area of 13 square miles (33 km²). The first permanent settler in what would become Fremont was David Brinckerhoff, who arrived in 1847 from Ohio. He built a log cabin on the banks of the river across from present-day Fremont High School. In 1850, John Sibley and his family settled in what became Fremont and began to cultivate corn and potatoes near their cabin. On July 1, 1851, they organized as a town under the name "Fremont." The town prospered through agriculture until railroads arrived in 1861, which caused a corresponding increase in trade and commerce. In 1865–1866, Jens Christensen started construction of the Omaha & Pacific Railroad between Omaha and Laramie; this triggered increased industry and development around Fremont. By 1870, all but one block of downtown were developed with buildings dating back to that period or later including: First National Bank (now part of Wells Fargo), Masonic Temple (now occupied by Target), State Capitol Building (later razed for fire purposes), Masonic Lodge No 1 (now vacant), Presbyterian Church (now occupied by City Market) and several other businesses such as Butchers' Shop No 2 on Adams Avenue NW., Nye Brewery on Kearney Street NW., Wagon Wheel grocery store building at 5th & Richards Streets NW., Lumberyard at 6th & Farnsworth Streets NW., flour mill at 7th & High streetsNW., meat market at 8th & Market StreetsNW., post office at 9th & Gassaway StreetsNW., dry goods store building at 10th& Illinois StreetsNW., Ewing Machine shop building located east side of high school today Ewing Machine shop building located east side of high school today also served as home for Odd Fellows Lodge #569 from 1892 until its closure in 1978; prior to that lodge's affiliation with Freemont Community Club #1 it served as their hall Fremonto water tower visible from Interstate 80
Fremont was founded by the Nebraska Territorial Legislature in 1868 as the town of Fremont Grove. The name came from a ranch that had been purchased by a group of men led by Captain James Fremont, who served in the Mexican-American War and then became a cattle rancher in Nebraska. The first post office was established in Fremont Grove on October 10, 1868, and remained open until it was discontinued on May 6, 1889. The first settlers were primarily farmers who grew crops and raised livestock. By 1870, there were also several businesses located in Fremont Grove including a general store and two tanneries. In 1872, the territorial government decided to move the capital of Nebraska from Omaha to Sioux City so that it could better serve its citizens. Accordingly, the legislature approved a bill to establish Fremont as the new capital with an initial population of 100 residents. Although many people hoped for Sioux City to become the new capital because it offered greater amenities such as schools and more commercial opportunities, Fargo eventually took over this role beginning in 1875 due to its larger population and political clout at that time. As Sioux City began to decline during the late 19th century due to various factors related to advances in transportation and other technologies, Fremont gradually gained back some of its prominence as a center for culture and commerce within Nebraska. However, Sioux City still remains one of the largest cities in Nebraska today with over 200,000 residents living within its boundaries.
