Ammunition production increased significantly during this time as firearms became increasingly more sophisticated. However, due to World Wars I and II both sides relied heavily on specific types of ammunition for their weapons; this caused Ammo shortages on occasion which led to some pretty funny headlines like "War Is Over But Ammunition Prices Are Still Higher Than Ever" (1939). By 1961 over two billion rounds had been manufactured worldwide from 7mm Remington Magnum through .50BMG calibers! It's safe to say that ammo has definitely come a long way since those early days when people just tried to shoot anything they found lying around!
