Picatinny Rail Picatinny rails are one of the most popular types of scope mounts because they provide plenty of space for multiple rounds per sighting mark without having to worry aboutmounted close together on top of each other like with Dovetails or offsets. A Picatinny rail is typically made up of three sections: TopRail (orêtre), BaseRail (bordure), and Flange(flèche). The TopRail is what you see in pictures; it’s just a piece of metal that goes all the way around your rifle/ Shotgun’s barrel. The BaseRail is where everything else attaches; it has two Tines which help keep your crosshairs locked onto your target regardlessof magnification settings! If you want less magnification power (typical when shooting at smaller targets) then you can remove one or more Tines from the BaseRail by changing them out for something higher grade like aluminum or steel wire instead. Finally, the Flange is what connects everything together – it has one end that goes into your gun’s magazine tube(usually red)and another end which goes into your TV stand or whatever mounting surface you decide to use! It should be noted though that if you choose to use a TV stand as your mounting surface there must also be at least 4 feet clearance between yourself AND THE WALL!
