Bellevue, Nebraska is a city in Neb. It's the county seat of Sand County and has a population of over 25,000 people. The city was first settled in 1855 by Norwegian immigrants who founded the town on the east side of Bellevue River. By 1860, Bellevue had a school, post office, and two stores. In 1865, Bellevue was sectioned off into four townships: Bellevue Township on the south side of the river; North Bellevue Township on the north side; West BellevUE Township on the east side; and East BellevUE Township on the west side. In 1871, Belle- vue became an official incorporated town with a population of 10 residents. The first gun shop in town opened in 1875 at 5 South Second Street. This shop served as a source for both local defense against Native Americans and also exported guns to locations such as Omaha and Denver. In 1907, Kingman Arsenal was opened in Belle- vue by George Wickersham Sr., one of America's earliest producers of handguns (the company produced more than 100 pistols per day). The plant employed up to 1,500 people at its peak production while also exporting guns to Europe and Japan. During World War II, Kingman Arsenal produced firearms for military purposes including artillery pieces and tanks. After World War II ended there were reductions in production but assets continued to be used until 1984 when they closed altogether due to lack of demand from consumers or industry changes that made handguns less desirable than prior years

The first white settlers arrived hereabouts in 1854 & started buildin' houses around '57~58 according to History Trails database_ though there's no mention about it anywhere except Wiki page circa 1925 when Kingman Revolt took place & posited "Bellevue" name plucked from airwaves during chaotic aftermath? Anyway their descendants live here till this day witout any issues--just like locals do today thru slogan "We are all born Fighting!" No big deal though since they've always been good at adapting!
