Bellevue was first settled in 1865 by Norwegian immigrants. By 1875, the population of Bellevue had increased to over 100 residents. The townspeople built a sawmill and gristmill, and started a grocery store. They also developed a two-track railroad to transport goods from Omaha to Bellevue. In 1886, Bellevue began annexing surrounding townships and becoming its own municipality. In 1912, the town annexed the neighboring community of Hollandale. In 1937, Bellevue became an incorporated city with a population of around 500 people. The city continued to grow through the years, reaching its current size in 1981. Bellevue is home to many cultural attractions such as the Bellevue Symphony Orchestra and Art Gallery, as well as major businesses such as Nebraska Furniture Mart and Lincoln University Hospital.
Bellevue is an unincorporated community in Lincoln County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 614 at the 2000 census. Bellevue is located on U.S. Route 169 east of Omaha and north of Bellevue, Nebraska City. It is part of the Omaha-Council Bluffs-Bellevue Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Bellevue was George Wills in 1868. He built a small cabin along the banks of the Nebo River. A post office was established at Bellevue in 1875, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. A sawmill and grist mill were founded in Bellevue by James Couchman in 1898 and 1899 respectively. In 1903, Harry Potter set up a bakery on Main Street near the now defunct Western Union Telegraph office which he operated for 38 years until his death in 1974. Potter's breadwinner also ran aadrhoods (a type of grocery) on both sides of town for many years before those businesses were closed down during prohibition times because they were not licensed to sell alcohol). The Nebo River Valley Railroad arrived at BellevUE from Council Bluffs on November 1, 1906 via what is now US 169; this line became known as "the old line". The city of Omaha annexed BellevUE on April 14th 1909 after Mayor John Mason delivered a speech denouncing annexation by Omaha as consolidation without due process or notice to residents who lived adjacent to what would become their new municipal boundaries; however much people may have liked their current location they did not want to be annexed into what they considered to be a 'big city'. The original village had only two streets running east-west with one side being developed as housing while the other side consisted mostly of farms with some outbuildings used for storage or farm animals etc., There were no stores or other services available so that goods had to be bought either from friends or vendors within walking distance or from more distant stores such as Walmart which opened up shortly afterwards across town at 5th and Market Streets NE about where I live today! This lack of amenities did nothing but add insult to injury when you drove into town trying to buy something & found that all your local shops had closed down too! So much for making life easy! However annexation did bring some major improvements including better transportation options closer by (the Nebo Valley RR tracks passed through city limits soon afterward), easier access to jobs & shopping centers further away (particularly outside downtown) & most importantly an increase overall population size which began ballooning thanks largely to immigrants coming across the border looking for work opportunities while others seeking asylum from poverty back home – here we see another example of how open borders can lead to increased inequality between groups even if there are no major benefits flowing directly unto those groups themselves... Today most people living inside the walls still call themselves "BellevUEers" despite everything having changed since then 🙂

Bellevue is a city in and the county seat of Douglas County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 26,261 at the 2010 census. Bellevue has been called one of the "Fiji islands of America" due to its close proximity to Fiji and its large Pacific Islanders population. The original settlers were people from Scotland who came overland in 1855. They named their new settlement after Bellevue, Scotland, which they had seen as an excellent place to settle because of its fertile land and lack of disease. The first store in Bellevue was opened by Alexander Graham Bell on December 12, 1856. The early residents made cheese and bread from flour that they gathered from the nearby hills. A post office was established in Bellevue on April 10, 1860, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on July 1, 1964. In 1863 Bellevue became part of Dodge City through an act of Congress passed under President Abraham Lincoln. It wasn't until 1898 when Omaha took control of Douglas County that Bellevue lost its status as a town within the county seat boundary. In 1907 Bellevue elected Harry S Truman for president (the first person ever elected from Nebraska) with over 50% of the vote cast; he would later be impeached for perjury during his 1948 presidential campaign but survived impeachment proceedings and served out his sentence before being pardoned by Ulysses S Grant before leaving office). On January 6th 1909 Edwin Whitehead died suddenly while working on a farm near Red Cloud Lake; this event is generally considered to be the beginning of modern day murder in Omaha area as well as most notably creating Prohibitionism in Nebraska (Edwin Whitehead's death effectively legalized alcohol prohibition across much Of Nebraska). Bellevue grew rapidly following World War II with construction courtesy of local farmers such as J.B Priestly who built what are now key local highways including I-80/I-90 between Omaha and Lincoln – making it easy for soldiers returning home after fighting overseas to find their way back into town quickly without having to worry about getting lost or getting stuck in rural areas again during wartime shortages caused by troop withdrawals etc.. Streets were plowed regularly so that fresh snow could be melted down for driving onto them; this practice continued even into today's times when driveways can still be quite cold outside! A major development around this time was James Mudgett's purchase (and subsequent construction) of acres immediately south east corner of Union Street & South Highway Boulevard – becoming one half mile wide arterial street running throughout downtown BellevUE – soon followed by other developers like Ray Smith who also constructed extensive housing developments such as Rosedale Towers circa 1965-1975 which remain some of only high rise dwellings remaining along portions thereof today! Many popular tourist destinations such as Target Shopping Center (opened 1967), Discovery Museum (opened 1975), [Empire State Building] building demolition project 1969-1970 [now known as NRG Stadium], State Capitol grounds etc., all began developing shortly thereafter – many thanks largely to increased exposure given by various media outlets associated with downtown redevelopment projects during those years! Many current commercial properties have been developed since then including: Quality Inn & Suites Downtown - opened 2002 - Hilton Garden Inn - Opened 2005 - Best Western Plus - Opened 2009 - Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Casino - Opened 2013
Bellevue was founded in 1854 by Alexander Belmont and his father, John Belmont. The town quickly became a center for education, commerce, and industry. Bellevue was also the site of several important events in Nebraska history including the first election of a U.S. president in 1884, the discovery of oil near Bellevue in 1907, and the creation of Nebraska's statehood on August 6th, 1912.
