This event marked the beginning of the modern era of gun control activism in America. After 1903, there were no new manufacturers active in the industry until 1911 when Winchester announced its intention to start manufacturing firearms once again under its own nameplate “Winchester Firearms Corporation” with a goal to increase sales by creating a higher quality product than those available from competing companies. Unfortunately for Winchester though, competition from larger Manufacturers quickly eroded their market share at this point; however they did continue to make products through their company name until 1945 when they merged with Remington Arms Incorporated into one company known today as Remington Rand Incorporated (RAN). During World War II both guns and ammunition were needed so ammunition factories were built up like nothing ever before during this time period especially due to shortages caused by war efforts which led directly into civilian demand later on also causing prices on Ammunition skyrocketing like never before making it difficult for civilians just trying budget any type of purchase without breaking the bank
