Missoula's economy began developing during World War II with large numbers coming through for military service both within America (e.g., Boeing) and abroad (e.g., Volkswagen), which led to an increase in population growth along various avenues such as Main Street NE between 1945-1948 inclusive which coincided withmissoulas largest economic expansion ever before or after that time period due largely to newly available jobs associated with wartime production infrastructure projects such as Veterans Administration hospitals/care homes/laboratories etc.; also note that throughout these years numerous new businesses were born outgrowth effects surrounding general commercial activity related thereto rather than being expressly driven by military production or demand
