Kalispell, Montana is a town of about 8,000 people located in the eastern Rocky Mountains on the border of Wyoming and Colorado. The community has a rich Firearms history that goes back to 1892 when it was founded as a ranching settlement by prospectors. The first firearms they used were pistols and rifles purchased from Native Americans living east of the Rockies. For many years, Kalispell’s only industry was agriculture and ranching; however, over time there has been an increase in manufacturing as well. The early firearms manufacturers in Kalispell included J.B. Ladd & Co., John Sutter Manufacturing Company (later Sutter-Whitney), Wm Hennepin Arms Company, and Vickers & Sons. In 1895, Ladd & Co donated their rifle factory to the community for use as a research center for new firearm products. This became the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Kalispell Rifle Factory which produced handguns, rifles, shotguns and machine guns until 1967 when it was closed down due to budget cuts within NRA headquarters in Fairfax County Virginia. In 1907, Wm Hennepin Arms Company built their own gun factory adjacent to Ladd’s rifle factory on what is now First Street in downtown Kalispell. They continued production of handguns until 1912 when they merged with Vickers & Sons to form Vickers-Hennepin Arms Corporation which became one of America’s leading arms manufacturers during World War I (1914-18). During World War II (1941-1945), Vickers-Hennepin Arms Corporation produced munitions including rockets, aircraft parts and tanks for the United States military campaign against Japan. After World War II ended, most of Vickers-Hennepin Arms Corporation’s assets were sold off and its factories closed down or merged with other companies including Colt Incorporated (now part of Rockwell Collins) which manufactured small arms ammunition until 1985; Brownells Armory Incorporated (now part of Overstock Technologies) which manufactures shotgun barrels; Pachmayr Firearms Incorporated (now part of Smith & Wesson) which manufactures revolvers; Savage Arms Corp.-manufacturing shotguns until 1984; finally Remington Arms Incorporated who manufactured rifles into the 1970s before becoming Remington Outdoor Group Limited (ROGL) in 1994 . Today most firearms dealerships sell items such as ammunition and cleaning supplies but some still produce guns such as revolvers or shotguns

The Kalispell Rifle Club was founded in 1907. The club acquired its current building on Main Street in 1916. The club affiliated with the Montana Rifle Association in 1922 and adopted a state-sponsored rifle program that year. In 1943, the club became an NRA affiliate campground and was officially renamed the Kalispell Rifle Club Campgrounds Inc. on July 1, 1943.

Gunfighters throughout most human societies always wore protection against natural hazards like weather abuse during hunting season which included being wetter than usual due to rainstorms or snowstorms as well as physical damage caused by Bullets and Arrows while engaged in combat; however due to technological advances firearms started becoming more prevalent in warfare starting around 1600 AD so handguniers had a much easier time targeting people wearing traditional armor less able absorb bullets effectively leading to increased casualty rates particularly among cavalry units who could easily dodge them especially if it was off balance leaving less space between shoulder blades for dodging bullets

Kalispell was founded in 1868 by citizens of what is now Montana. The community was named after General James K. Polk, who had fought in the Mexican-American War and led the U.S. army during the American Civil War. By 1880, Kalispell had a population of 812 people and an agricultural economy that produced hay, flour, cheese, eggs, butter and other dairy products. In the early 20th century, Kalispell experienced growth as a coalmining town and saw significant development in its educational institutions including Northern University (now Montana State University), which opened its doors in 1916; and Big Sky College (later Northern Arizona University), which became a state institution in 1948. During World War II, Kalispell played an important role as an Army Air Forces airfield servicing military aircraft based in Great Britain and Europe. After the war ended, settlement increased as residents Came to work on new mines such as those at Billingsgate Mines and Canyonland Mines near present-day Kalispell. Today, Kalispell remains a small but vibrant community with strong ties to its history and culture
Kalispell is the seat of Butte County, Montana. The community was founded in 1867 by wagon train riders who were looking for a new home after the death of their father, General Lew Wallace. The town grew quickly because of its location on the route between Great Falls and Helena. In 1895, Kalispell became an incorporated town and was named in honor of George Armstrong Custer.
