Helena, Montana is located in the Great Western Plains of the United States. The city’s location on the Eastern border of Helena and Missoula combined has led to it being a center for optical technology for many years. In 1887, Guglielmo Marconi first transmitted radio waves from Helena using an early type of glass fiber cable. The city was known as the “City of Glass” because so much of its infrastructure was built with this material. The city experienced a rebirth in the late 1800s when entrepreneurs began developing new businesses in optical technology. One such business was Byers Optical Supply Company which developed innovative methods for manufacturing optics products. Byers became one of the largest suppliers of optical equipment and supplies in America during this time period. In 1916, Helena passed a law requiring all businesses with more than five employees to have a sign outside their doors that read “Optic Sales Department”. This law helped to revive optical technology within the city and help make it one of the leading Optical Technology cities in America at this time. In 1978, Helena made history when they became one ofthe first municipalities in North America to pass an ordinance recognizing Daylight Saving Time (DST). This ordinance allowed people who were able to adjust their clocks to go back an hour during Daylight Saving Time without having any impact on their work or daily lives. Since then, Helena has been committed to promoting DST and helping those who are impacted by it through various programs and initiatives such as Sunrise Timing events which allow people from throughout Northern Montana and Idaho to experience sunrise at their favorite spot each year!

Helena, Montana is a small town in the US state of Montana. It was founded by Helena and her husband, George W. Haggerty, in 1875. The population was 527 at the 2010 census. The town is located in Butte County and is bordered by Butte to the south, Great Falls to the east, and Flathead National Forest to the north. Helena is known for its downtown Historic District which includes a array of buildings from the early 1900s up until present day. When first settled by Helena and George W. Haggerty, Helena was a small farmers community with around 100 residents. By 1908, however, Helena had reached 1,000 residents and became an important stop on the Northern Pacific Railway's route between Seattle and Billings. In 1916-1917, when World War I began, Helena served as a military garrison for nearby Fort Bridger before returning home during peace time to support his wife's business endeavors. The city of Helena experienced some growth during World War II; after 1941 it had become one of three principal stops on Army Route 66 along the highway system that connected North America with Europe through Western Asia. The other two stops were Fort Worth in Texas and Los Angeles in California. However, most of what is now downtown Helena was built after 1945 as part ofArmy Road 2 (later US 287) construction project that linked Highway 66 with Interstate 80 northwest of Bozeman via Helensburg.[1] After years of decline due to changes in demographics and economic conditions throughout much of 2000s,[2][3][4][5][6][7][8] recent demographic data indicates that there has been significant revitalization activity taking place within Downtown Helena over the past decade or so,[9][10][11][12] including new businesses opening within blocks or near historic landmarks like First Presbyterian Church building from 1885 which still functions as an all-purpose meeting space today.[13],[14], renovated historical properties such as Second Presbyterian Church from 1896[15],[16], new housing developments such as Park Placee Manor development[] [17], heavy investment totaling more than $60 million dollars [] [18],[19]+$20 million dollars [] [20]), making Downtown Helena one of most active areas for redevelopment in Montanaand across North America
