Gun Parts History in West Plains, Missouri began with the purchase of a shotgun from L.H. Goodwin in 1892. The shotgun was used for hunting small game and is still in use today. In 1902, the first ammunition company was established in West Plains and started manufacturing Ammunition byproducts such as shot shells and black powder cartridges. In 1924, thePost Office moved to West Plains from Joplin and the town's first grocery store opened in 1925. The first school was built in 1929-31 and the first bus system was established in 1936-37. In 1948, Gun Parts store opened on Main Street which continued to serve as the shop of choice for firearm enthusiasts until it closed in 1976 after more than 40 years of operation. The current owner reopened the shop under new management late last year and has since been working to restore it to its former glory as a one-stop shop for all firearm enthusiasts including gunsmithing, ammo sales, shooting events/ jams etc..

West Plains is a town in Marshall County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,424 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The first European to visit West Plains was Édouard-Jacques Cartier in 1605. He and his crew sailed up the Missouri River and visited what is now West Plains before continuing on their journey southward. In 1803, Capt. John Smith of the US Cavalry explored the area and named it after west point on theMissouri River where he had seen a white person walking. It wasn't until 1819 when Judge James Clinton traveled through this area that he made note of its location on high ground just east of present day West Plains and gave it its current name of West Plains after experiencing an sandstorm there that destroyed most of civilization in that region for several days. In 1841 German immigrant Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Schurz founded a farmstead at present day's intersection of Arkansas Road (US 60) and State Highway 7 about five miles northeast of West Plains which became known as Schurzville after him because he did all the selling within that short radius including setting up a post office there in 1846 which continues to serve today as one of Missouri's oldest continuously running mail deliveries service providers - also providing educational opportunities to local students attending nearby MO Community College since 1957! The first post office in town was established here on July 4th, 1850 by Drury & Flanders with P O Box 927! By 1860 there were ten businesses operating here including four banks with over $10 million in assets! By 1870 there were twenty-six businesses operating here with over $30 million in assets! In 1870 Peter Kapp organized "The Pioneer Party" who attempted to start a stagecoach route from St Louis through Kansas City via Topeka/Kansas Falls instead arriving late both times due to bad weather so they turned around and started again another route which arrived safe but empty at Hannibal Junction about sixteen miles north east from where they stopped!!! This event helped spur others into starting business throughout Marshall County including many small farmers who would continue doing so even well into the 20th century!

West Plains, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. It was founded in 1836 by a party of settlers led by Captain John S. Morton. The town became a post office in 1840, and its first store opened in 1854. In 1865, West Plains became the seat of government for both Platte County and Newton County. The population declined during the 20th century, but has increased since 2000 when it merged with nearby Hannibal to form the new city of Hannibal-West Plains. The history of West Plains can be traced back to 1836, when a group of settlers led by Captain John S. Morton arrived at what is now West Plains from Carthage Township in Clay County. They were looking for land that would offer easy access to trade with surrounding counties and townships. Their wagon train consisted of 24 people; 11 men went into battle against Native Americans while 13 others died on their way home from Exploration expeditions across western Kansas and Nebraska Territory (present-day Oklahoma). Because this was an early day settlement, no permanent buildings were erected until after 1840, when Captain Morton's store was built on Main Street between North High School and South Elementary School. This store served as the nucleus around which development proceeded over ensuing years as other businesses cropped up within its walls: A blacksmith shop operated from 1852 until 1861; a millinery business opened in 1862; a grocery store opened in 1863; an opera house and theater opened in 1870; and finally, a post office was established at West Plains on October 25, 1880. The first permanent residents at West Plains were captain Morton's family who lived on the original homestead east of present-day Main Street beside the river before moving westwardly alongriverine slopes towards what is now Hannibal (then Platte) County sometime before that year or even prior to it.
