Wentzville, Missouri is a small town located in the Ozarks of central Missouri. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Wentzville is part of the Springfield-Springfield-Aurora, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The land that now makes up Wentzville was first settled by Germans in 1837. By 1870, the community had increased to around 200 people and was known as "The Village". In 1907, citrus fruit grower H.J. Goodyear donated land to make way for a new town square; this square became home to the local post office and various businesses including a grocery store, blacksmith shop and automobile dealership. In 1916, Wentzville's first public school opened and it remained an all-day kindergarten until 1984 when it became an afternoon kindergarten with accelerated program options for older children. In 1954, local farmers began growing corn on their properties which led to the development of what is now called "The Corn Belt" - an area that includes much of Wentzville along with neighboring towns such as Derby and Lebanon. The Corn Belt has become one of the most important agricultural regions in central Missouri due to its location close to major markets for produce such as St Louis and Chicago. Over time, many top Valley companies have grown up here including Archer Daniels Midland, Monsanto Company (now Bayer) and Syngenta AG (now BASF). Today, Wentzville remains a small town with strong cultural ties to nearby Springfield dating back over 150 years; both cities are served by two elementary schools and two high schools as well as multiple churches and businesses including several big box stores like Sears Holdings Corporation (Sears) which moved its headquarters from Hoffman Estates IL in 2014 into what is now known as The Square at The Park which also houses several restaurants including Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., Jamba Juice Co., Baskin Robbins Restaurants Inc., Papa John’s Pizza etc.. In addition there are many smaller shops/cafes/bars scattered throughout The Square which provide great opportunities for local commerce while still remaining connected culturally to larger metropolitan areas like St Louis or Springfield!

Wentzville is located in the town of Wentzville, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The first settler in Wentzville was Samuel Hines, who arrived in 1819. He and his wife built a log cabin on the present site of Wentzville Elementary School in 1827. The name Wentzville was given to the community by General David Hunter after he discovered it while exploring Indian Territory during the Mexican–American War. In 1828, Ebenezer Cook established a gristmill at what is now called Mill Creek near what is now Hermann Park Boulevard. In 1830, John Witherspoon erected a two-story white Frame schoolhouse on land donated by Governor James Knoppers. That same year, Reverend Nathaniel Denny attended an Anglican services at Holland Methodist Church and decided to move his congregation there. Denny's church seated about 150 people; however, it soon became too small for its population and he built a two-story frame addition to his original structure in 1835 which seats about 90 people today. In 1840, John Beechman bought 4 acres of land from Captain Elijah Smith for $500 and deeded it to George Washington Parish as part of their donation for Stonewall Jackson's military funeral procession through town on July 6 that year. In 1850s and 1860s several sawmills were established here including those belonging to A Company (1860), J & G Milling Company (1870), Pemberton Bros./Follett Furniture Manufacturing Co.(1892-1900), H & S Sawmills(1920-1930), Wrought Iron Works(1940). The mill buildings are still extant: J & G Milling Company Building (now home of Washtenaw County Museum) on north side of current Main Street; Pemberton Bros./Follett Furniture Manufacturing Co.(now home of Samuell Hammiller Middle School) building on east side opposite current High School Drive; H & S Sawmills building also now home of Washtenaw County Museum; Wrought Iron Works building also now home of Samuell Hammiller Middle School and Washtenaw County Museum annex which houses county offices such as treasurer/councilor/ recorder etc., sheriff's office etc., First National Bank Building since 1890 replaced by new bank headquarters with stateoftheart technology inside since 2006 across from old courthouse complex on US 72 just south off I street fromSAMUELL HAMMILL MIDDLE SCHOOL—see Google map below The first telephone line went up in 1926 when Phone Corner Telephone CO., successor company to Western Union Telegraph CO., installed wirepoketers into an existing Pratt Avenue well near where current Park Avenue meetsOld State Road 5 between Old State Road 7th Street - Old State Road 8th Street intersection Wrought Iron Works was founded November 17 1914 by Byron Fenton with brothers Homer Fenton and Orson Fenton working together until Orson died suddenly while operating one day while they were still making nails using horse power powered hammering anvils out back There are many stories about how this place got its name "Wrought Iron Works" but one story has been repeated over numerous years beginning with Orson’s brother Homer telling his father that he wanted him to get an iron business going so his son could tell everyone he met that he “made things like wrought iron” some 75 years later when visiting my sons family farm west central MI we found all 3 older brothers tools still lying around not having been taken down or stored away over time Thank you for your interest this article does not represent any historical events or locations within Wentzville
