Webb died without children and all vestiges of the Webb City name were lost until 1930 when it was reactivated by his wife Anna Lavinia Webb with the assistance of her son Everett Crain Webb III (1891-1986). Anna Lavinia served as First Lady of Missouri from 1946 to 1950 under Governor Orville Faubus and later became President pro tempore of the United States Senate from 1965 to 1969
