In 1886, Jens Jensen donated all remaining shares in the plantation to Webb City for perpetual use as a public library and park; this donation remains one of the most important Zambezi area donations ever made to an American community In 1907, Harry Laughlin became president and CEO of Drexel Burnham Lambert Corporation (DBL), which had its origins as a trading company founded by David Drexel with two partners - James Buchanan Reynolds & Co., et al., and New York investment bank Lehman Brothers - after Investors Bank failed during financial reorganization proceedings initiated by President Theodore Roosevelt on November 15, 1906 under pressure from organized labor groups seeking regulation of business practices within Wall Street banks

They started a small grocery store and built a house on the property that they still use as their home today. In 1924, they moved to their current location. Their son-in-law, Harry Hargrave, also founded Webb City High School in 1925 which remains in operation today. The community has experienced many changes over the years including two World Wars and several tornado events which have left damage throughout the community. Today, Webb City is a small but thriving community with active businesses and families who enjoy its recreational opportunities such as golfing, fishing, biking and swimming; however it does face some challenges such as declining revenue from recent annexations of other towns within Buchanan County along with increased competition for housing from larger communities around town
