Gun swivels have been a part of Washington, Missouri's history for many years. The first gun swivels were patented by Andrew Morton in 1847. They consisted of a metal band around the trigger guard that would rotate so that the weapon could be aimed more easily.
Washington is a city in and the county seat of Clay County, Missouri, United States. The population was 9,172 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Washington was founded in 1836 by General James K. Polk and named for George Washington, who had died two years earlier. The first store in Washington was open on July 8, 1836. The town began to rapidly grow after it became known as a stop on the Santa Fe Trail from Independence to Topeka. In 1840, Washington commissioners built what is now the Jackson County Courthouse and jail. A post office called Washington was established in 1846, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1912. The first school district in Clay County was organized December 12, 1851; it included all of Clay County except for parts of Washburne and Webster counties which were organized later that year under new plans designed to avoid duplication of services between those districts. In 1860 Union general John Custer led an attack against Indian forces near Washburne while they were besieging Fort Hays; many people nearby fled into the hills when they heard gunfire coming from Custer's forces rather than return home to help with the defense of their homes. This inspired businessman Hiram Sibley to name his small town around Custer's defeat at Little Bighorn during this battle - Sibley's Hill - after General Custer's victory overthe Sioux Indians at that location on July 6, 1863 (see Battle of Little Bighorn). When Union troops abandoned their attempt to capture Liberty Hall shortly before its fall on April 14th 1865 due to Confederate resistance within the building - one day after Abraham Lincoln had been inaugurated as America's first president – most residents chose not to leave and formed a picket line around Liberty Hall until Union reinforcements arrived fifteen days later (see Western Union Telegraph Company Building Siege). A tornado touched down near Washington on May 10th 1934 killing five people including three children playing outside their home; however damage done by that storm overall amounted only $5 million dollars less than what would be caused if it had struck more heavily populated areas such as St Louis or Kansas City according to reports at the time which remain controversial today given advances technology today which could have easily detected this destructive storm before it made landfall near such large populations centers

They are increasingly being used in firearms magazines as well as personal Defense Weapons (PDWs) because they make them easy and fast to adjust for different shooting positions or wind directions.

Washington was a small community in Boone County, Missouri, United States. It was located on the banks of the River Misery near the present-day city of Jefferson City. The community had a post office from 1854 to 1861, and a courthouse from 1865 to 1871. In 1863, General Robert E. Lee led his Confederate forces through Washington while they were invading Missouri. The town was destroyed by Union forces during the Battle of Wilson's Creek and it never recovered.
