In carrying out his duties he became involved with matters relating specifically to arms control within Belgium including negotiations surrounding munitions exports permissible under Treaty of Trianon which took effect on June 20th 1916! As such O'Brien was directly responsible for ensuring all authorized Belgian ammunition purchases remained within regulatory compliance thereby preventing any potential conflict arising from Belgium's participation in World War I!!! On November 30th 1918 O'Brien left Belgium effective due to political instability following its conclusion!! On December 14th 1920 Americans placed an order for 1 million .30 caliber cartridges Type A2 Springfield Armory Ammunition Factory Ammunition ( deliveries began January 1921)!!!!! After leaving office Biddle formed two companies - Standard Ammo Corp and American Cannon Works - producing high quality ammunition now considered heritage items!. During his tenure American Cannon Works also developed what would later become know as the M1 Garand rifle platform!!!!
