Non-human bipedality includes animals such as gorillas and chimpanzees that are able to walk on two legs, but does not include humans. Human bipedality includes all humans who can walk on two legs with a degree of skill. The first evidence for human bipedality was found in the fossil record in the form of foot bones from various animal species dating back to about 190 million years ago. These foot bones were thought to be those of a quadruped, but it was later realized that these bones belonged to someone who couldwalk on two legs. The first human fossils were found in China around 40,000 years ago and they date back to about 120,000 years old. This early evidence shows that there was at least one person who couldwalk on two legs at some point in history. There are many different reasons why humans developed bipedality. One reason is because our ancestors had to use their hands for many tasks that they would have otherwise been unable to do while walking on four feet like digging and gathering food. Additionally, we evolvedadaptive advantages when it came to locomotion which means we were better suited for moving through difficult terrain than other animals. Finally, we also evolved special muscles within our lower extremities called plantarflexor muscles which help us move our ankles up and down during locomotion as well as turn around quickly when needed.

The human type is more common today, as humans have evolved to walk on two legs. The dog type is less common but no less popular, as dogs are able to walk on four legs. The first bipedal humans were Homo erectus and Homo ergaster. These early humans walked upright with their heads down and their hands behind their back. This type of bipedalism was later replaced by the human-canine form which began to evolve in the late Paleolithic period about 25,000 years ago (around 100 BC). The canine form of bipedality was initially used for hunting and scavenging activities. As time passed, however, people began to use this form of bipedality for other activities such as travelling and working together in teams. This type of bipedality became more prevalent during the Middle Paleolithic period (between 9500 – 6000 BC). During this time, people started using tools which allowed them to create different types of animals out of wood or bone. This type of tool usage eventually led to the development of agriculture and society as we know it today.
