Town And Country, MO is home to one of the most unique shooting Target Holder History in the country. This small town was once a center of manufacturing and firearms production. At its peak, Town And Country manufactured over 100% of all target holders in the United States. In recent years however, this manufacturing industry has gone into decline and many residents are no longer able to find work in the field. As a result, many people have turned to targets as their source of income. Some old-timers still manufacture their own target holders, but it’s harder and more time consuming than ever before. The first Targets Holder in Town And Country was built by Samuel Merrill back in 1875. At that time, target holders were very important for training riflemen for war. Today, Targets Holder are still used for training purposes and can also be found at various Gun Shows throughout the country. Today,Target Holder history is deeply connected with guns and ammunition production from early on in American history. Many residents hereabouts claim they were directly responsible for starting or helping to start America’s gun industry!

The Town And Country Shooting Club was founded in 1922 by local businessmen. It served as a training ground for the local police force and also hosted tournaments and events. The club was purchased by the town of Town And Country in 1951, and it became a full-service shooting range.
Town andCountry is a small town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 736 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was platted in 1839 by John P. Butler and James Fenton as part of the Town of Ballwin and was named after Colonel George Townshend, who had settled near present-day Ballwin in 1814. The first settler died within two years of his arrival, however, so balloting began for a new village site in 1840 and it was decided on what is now the north side of Main Street. Soil surveyors laid out lots on December 17th that year around what are now Factory Road and Market Streets; also known then as "the Plank Road". That initial plat included land for churches, schools and other public buildings which were built over time as demand grew for residents to live closer to their jobs and businesses. In 1851, when Union Pacific Railroad reached here from St. Louis via Mimico Junction (now Independence), many people left town because they could no longer afford to commute daily; some did so by wagon or horseback while others took trains downriver until they reached Quincy or Cairo where they disembarked before continuing their trip home on another day's work ride. In 1865 Missouri became a state, which caused much change throughout the region including this abrupt departure by many residents; still others moved inland along US 65 until finally reaching Ballwin in 1870 just short of its original size today thanks to consolidation with numerous other townships across central Missouri following General Order No 1 dated March 3rd 1870 by then Governor Nicholas Brady ordering all such ordered township creations “to form into compact Body politic under one common name” – Ballwin Township! This event led to future Mayor Wm Blytheiard calling himself “Governor Brady” even though he actually lived southwest of town proper prior to that date inside what is now called old Ulysses S Grant Presidential Library & Museum! What we see today as Town And Country started life back then as an almost entirely rural community complete with only one school – West Side Academy – located about two miles east of downtown on State Route KKXS between Lookout Valley Road & Big Rocks Road! Today’s courthouse/law office complex sits atop an earlier gristmill tower dating back to circa 1860 surrounded by early farmsteads including several still standing red barns/houses currently used by local farmers for storage purposes! There are few if any reminders remaining today outside the busy shopping district centered around Interstate 55 Exit 137 approximately five miles northeast of town proper serving both locals & Visitors alike during business hours – good news because most everything else has been replaced or updated since construction began less than 10 years ago!

Town and Country, Missouri was a small town located in northwestern Missouri. The community was founded in 1854 by the merger of two smaller settlements, Town Creek and Forest Grove. There were only about 350 residents at its peak in the 1950s. Today, Town and Country is a census-designated place (CDP) with a population of 910. It is part of the Cape Girardeau metropolitan area. The town grew up around the flour mill that was built in 1854 by J.H. Tate and Sons. The mill produced flour for local markets as well as bread for General Sherman's army during the American Civil War. After the war, the mill closed but it left behind a lasting legacy in Town and Country: an agricultural community that continues to produce corn, soybeans, eggs, cheese, apples, potatoes, etc., today." In addition to its agricultural roots, Town andCountry also had a strong military presence through its role as home to two Ulysses S Grant Military Academy schools: West Point Military Academy (now US Army 1) and Fort Snelling Military Academy (now Minnesota State University Mankato). In addition to these academies there were several other educational institutions such as Eastern Kentucky Normal Institute (later University of Kentucky), Hannibal School District No. 2 Schools (now Mercyhurst Univ.), Community College of Northeast Missouri-Kansas City Branch Campus (now Truman State Univ.), Ozark Technical Institute & Business School-Ozark campus (later Ozark Technical University), Prairie View A&M University-Dallas campus Gillett Campus/Prairie View A&M Junior College - now Prairie View A&M University Dallas Denton Campus/Denton County High School vernacular architecture characterized by Queen Anne style homes dating from before World War II which are still standing today including some that have been turned into liveable units vernacular churches typical of this time include First Baptist Churchwhich is also one of only two remaining Presbyterian churches in Cape Girardeau County still standing from this time period vernacular schools which operated throughout most if not all aspects similar to what we know now including public schools until after World War II; these included Goodwill Elementary School opened in 1865 which later became Goodwill Industries; Central Elementary School opened 1908 which became Central High School; East Side Local Intermediate Magnet school opened 1922 which became South Sidelocal Intermediate Magnet school; North Side Local Intermediate Magnet school opened 1951 which became North Side High School; finally Starland Baptist Churchopened 1955 which became Starland United Methodist Church."
On October 3, 1836, a group of Mormon settlers from the town of Nauvoo, Illinois, founded the city of Town And Country in what is now Independence County, Missouri. The new town was named for George Townshend, an Englishman who had helped to found Nauvoo. The town quickly became a important center for agriculture and industry. It also housed a large number of Mormon refugees from Nauvoo. In 1840, the town's first school was built. In 1847, it hosted the first international wheat-exporting fair in America. From 1850 to 1860, Town And Country served as the capital of Independence County. In 1857, it became home to the first municipal court in Missouri. In 1865, it was renamed Jackson City after Ulysses S. Grant's presidential victory over Lincoln in that year's election. In 1870, Town And Country became part of newly created St Louis County; however, it remained its own municipality until 1909 when it merged with nearby Independence City into one unit called Jackson Township (later Jackson Village). During World War II, Jackson Village served as an internment camp for Japanese Americans living near St Louis University; however, most residents left during and after the war. The population of Jackson Township increased greatly during the late 20th century due to waves of migration from rural areas throughout America tourban centers such as Detroit and Chicago; however much like their predecessors before them,[6] many residents soon leftJackson Township for greener pastures elsewhere in related industrial counties within Missouri or beyond following economic globalization trends represented by auto manufacturing plants relocated outside those states during this time period known as "the great migration".
