This new type of revolver allowed users to fire small rounds directly at their targets with far less danger of misses or misfires due to unsuitable ammunition being fired into the firearm's chamber Alban Pistol Company Limited (1890), development of modern firearms began with George Stephenson’s “Rocket Gun” in 1839 which had multiple round feeding and firing mechanism based on his earlier American invention –the Spencer Rifle (1795) . The first practical handgun appeared in 1796 when Samuel Adams produced “Anson” pistols which fired shot from a revolving barrel using gravity alone

On December 5, 1892, the St. Charles Daily Chronicle reported that a new airgun company had been founded in the city by George H. Kapp and Lorenzo Fultz. The company was called "Kapp-Fultz Air Guns." It was intended to produce shotguns using breechloading guns with revolving barrels and intention to sell them through retail outlets. The first guns produced were pistols and rifles with 10-round magazines, but production soon increased to include revolvers, shotguns, and rifle models with 30-round magazine capacities. In 1893, Kapp-Fultz Airguns became the first airgun manufacturer in Missouri to be certified by the National Firearms Association (NFA). In 1895, they produced their own cartridge for use with their breechloading guns - the .25 Stevens gauge airgun cartridge. This cartridge allowed them to compete head-to-head against other manufacturers of airguns at local gun shows. In 1897, Kapp-Fultz Airguns merged with another company named "Hornady Manufacturing Company" which made calibers for both revolvers and shotguns using bored out versions of old Colt 70 caliber rounds that Hornady had developed as an experimental round while working on a new shotgun design. The resulting shotgun cartridges were designated as "Hornady Magnum".

The town was platted in 1792 by General Nicholas Fenton and named for the French-Canadian general, Saint-Charles. The town became a major center of trade and commerce during the early 1800s. During the American Civil War, St. Charles was a key strategic location on the eastern border of Missouri. The population of St. Charles declined after the war but revived following World War II as a bedroom community for neighboring Kansas City. In the 1960s, St.Charles began to experience rapid growth as a result of its role as an important shopping and entertainment center for the city of Kansas City and its surrounding area. Today, St.Charles is home to many high-end businesses and is one of the most vibrant areas in downtown Kansas City
