The Sikeston, Missouri, Rifle and Pistol Club was established in 1876. The club’s first rifle range opened in 1877. In 1888, the club added a pistol range. The club also erected aoline course in 1907. In 1916, the club built a clubhouse and dues-paying membership increased to 100 members. That same year, the club made its first international trip to Scotland with 20 members from Missouri and 16 from Illinois. The next year, the club traveled to England where it won a trophy for rifles and pistols at an event held at Windsor Castle. In 1930, the club constructed a new clubhouse that was larger than previous structures and included an indoor shooting range as well as outdoor ranges for both rifles and pistols. That same year, the Sikeston Rifle & Pistol Club merged with other rifle clubs in Smith County to formthe Smith County Rifle Association (SCRA).
Sikeston, Missouri is located in the Ozarks of MO. The population was 3,887 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-area and is home to a large military base as well as a number of other businesses and services. Sikeston has been called "the little town on the edge of nowhere" and it's easy to see why - its small size and isolated location make it an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family. The first settler in Sikeston was George Washington who arrived there in 1820. After he died, his son John Washington moved his family there in 1825. JohnWashington's grandson Robert Greenough also settled in Sikeston after moving from Illinois. In 1829, David Brown married Sarah Fenton and started farming around here. They raised chickens, pigs, horses, cows and dogs until they acquired a sawmill which they operated until 1865 when it went out of business. Additionally, several churches were built in this area during the 19th century including First Baptist Church (founded 1834), Methodist Episcopal Church (1859), Presbyterian church (1875), Saint Luke’s Catholic church (1890) and Congregationalist church (1906). The last building constructed was an addition to Holy Cross Roman Catholic church in 1951 which served as the community’s primary school until that structure burned down in 1984; however the parish property still remains standing today as part of Holy Cross LutheranChurch which serves Sikeston residents today. In 1850 alone there were over 100 people living here within what is now known as Springfield Township; by 1900 that had decreased to just 17 individuals with only 4 farms/cities remaining within that township boundaries while all other land within present day Springfield Township has either been annexed into or become part of adjoining communities such as Columbia Heights or Maple Grove since then! Today's economy largely depends on military service leadership functions housed at nearby Fort Detrick although some small businesses do exist within the community albeit with smaller populations than those found elsewhere within Springfield Township due to its narrow streetscape & lack of open space for commercial development typically typifying rural areas outside urban cores like Kansas City! There are however some exceptions - one example being JT Enterprises Inc., an insurance brokerage firm founded by two brothers who purchased their first office building here back in 1923! This company later became one of MO's largest employers with more than 350 employees across 3 locations throughout Kansas City before ceasing operations all together in 2009 amidst economic instability caused by rapidly changing global markets!

Sikeston, Missouri was founded in 1839 by a group of Norwegian farmers. The town developed into a small agricultural community due to the presence of two Comstock Lumberyards and the nearby Missouri Pacific Railroad. In 1925, Sikeston became the county seat of Calhoun County. The population peaked at around 15,000 in 1940, but declined after World War II as farm production switched to other markets. Today, Sikeston is a small town with a population of about 10 residents. It is home to the Sikeston Historical Museum, which houses artifacts from throughout its history.
Sikeston, Missouri was founded on the banks of the Arkansas River in 1836 by John H. Sikeston and his brother, Isaac Sikeston. The town developed as a trading post on the river because of its location near the mouth of the Little Rock River. In 1868, it became a city and was named after John H. Sikeston's son, George Washington Sikeston.
