Sedalia, Mo., is a small town located in the Ozarks of central Missouri. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sedalia–St. Joseph metropolitan area. The Sedalia Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The club has many pistol shooting events throughout the year including matches, clinics, and Lady Gun Show which is held each fall. In addition to its rifle range, the club also has a trap range which hosts several tournaments each year. In November 2009, an amendment to the Missouri Constitution was passed that allowed concealed carry of firearms without a permit in all but one county in the state - Sedalia County (population: 7,664). This amendment went into effect on January 1st 2010 and allows citizens of any county with a population over 10,000 to possess a firearm without having to obtain a permit from their county sheriff or police department

Sedalia is a small town in Hancock County, Missouri, United States. The population was 2,813 at the 2010 census. Sedalia is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was named for Majestic Sedalia Hotel and Casino which was built in 1868 by the residents of adjoining towns of Olivette and Wilder. Sedalia was founded as a log cabin community on the east side of the Kansas River near what is now Interstate 70. A post office called Sedalia was established in 1885, and remained in operation until it closed in 1951. It has been reported that many early settlers were menured employees or farmers who could not afford to purchase a home themselves but wanted their children to have access to education and commerce. The first store opened in 1907 and became known as "The Gables". By 1912 there were six businesses operating within one mile of each other; three grocery stores, two hardware stores and one millinery shop. The town's center began to develop when the Kansas Pacific Railway completed its line from Carbondale to Sedalia through this community in 1916. During World War II, Sedalia became an important military supply depot due to its location on I-70 between Kansas City and St Josephs MO., as well as its ability to ship goods inland into Missouri without being stopped by customs agents at points along the way. After hostilities ended, sedalians experienced increased growth with many new homes being constructed thanks to government stimulus programs such as federally funded Housing Authority zoning changes that authorized ever wider housing developments around town (the pattern continued throughout most of suburban America during this time). The steady growth of Sedalia slowed beginning around 1990 due largely to strong competition from greater Springfield, Missouri; however some new development has resumed over recent years including a MEDICAL SCHOOL which opened in fall 2016 adjacent to Rheinwood Mall just minutes north of downtown Sedalia proper

Sedalia was founded by settlers from Northern Illinois in 1836. The first post office was established in 1840 and the town name changed to Sedalia in 1851 when it became part of Sedgwick County. In 1902, it became a part of Jackson County and again in 1912 when it became a part of Sedgwick County again. The Sedalia Volunteer fire department has been active since 1886 and is one of the oldest volunteer departments in the state of Missouri. The city also has its own ambulance service which provides paramedic services for residents throughout the city and for outlying areas when needed. In 1911, Mayor J D Whiteford dedicated a new library building that serves as both the municipal library and also acts as a gathering place for local farmers markets on Saturday mornings during growing season; this event remains annually one of the most popular events held in Sedalia today. A new courthouse replaced an old structure that had become outdated due to damage done by severe weather over time.

Sedalia, Missouri was founded on November 1, 1836 by James K. Polk and his wife Lucy as the town of Sedalia Township. The town was named for General Andrew Jackson, who had been in office when it was founded. The town's first store was built in 1840. It grew to become a small community with a population of around 100 people in 1850. In 1874, the city of Sedalia was created from parts of Sedalia Township and became an incorporated municipality with its own government. The population of Sedalia decreased from around 1500 people to fewer than 100 people by 1920. However, it increased to over 2000 people by 1930 and remained that size until the beginning of World War II. The city hall building is located on Market Street in downtown Sedalia and has been used as a municipal building since 1906
