Sedalia is a small town in the Ozarks region of Missouri, United States. The population was 3,354 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield County Metropolitan Statistical Area. Sedalia is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and has a humid subtropical climate. In 1881, this area was known as "The Erected Wagon Road" because it was an important transportation route between Springfield and Chicago. Today, Sedalia's economy relies heavily upon its agricultural sector, with industries like corn farmers, soybean farmers, chicken producers, and other production businesses located in the town. With three high schools (Stroudsburg High School; Sedalia Central High School; and Sedalia Junior/Senior High School), two churches (First Baptist Church of Sedalia and Methodist Episcopal Zion Church), several stores including one that sells cigarettes called "Smokey's", a post office (which opened in 1875), several restaurants including one serving Indian food called "Tandoori House", two hotels - The Windsor Hotel & Suites by Marriott International and The Cecil B. DeMille hotel - as well as many small businesses make up its social fabric. Sedalia also home to a few museums such as Valley Arts Museum and Dell Americana Museum which are open to the public for tours every day from 9am to 4pm. Additionally there are several parks within walking distance of downtown which offer activities like tennis tournaments or children's playdates with local petunias growing wild in nearby gardens during these times!

Gunlights were designed to be more easily visible in lowlight conditions while sights were designed to provide better accuracy when firing at night or during military engagements. Sedalia, Missouri is a small town located in Webster County, Missouri. The population was 5,433 at the 2010 census. Sedalia is known for its made-to-order history and pioneer heritage. The town began as a post office on October 3, 1864, when it was named for Sedalia, Kansas. It was originally built on the east side of the Shawnee River and grew rapidly due to its proximity to railroads and other businesses. By 1870, Sedalia had become an important center for trade in Webster County. In that year, it became the capital of Webster County and hosted a county courthouse and government buildings until 1907. In 1867, section 10 of Township 7 north of the river was annexed into Sedalia from Colville Township (now part of Belleville). This addition increased the population of Sedalia by over 50%. The first white child born in Sedalia was born on November 25th, 1868 to Elias Henson and Emma Smith Henson. The oldest resident today is Edwin Fenton who arrived in 1904 at age 78 years old. In 1955, residents voted to rename their community after General George Smedley Butler (1834 - 1921) during his visit to Webster County that year. At that time, Butler represented Missouri in Congress from 1923 - 1927 as well as being President pro tempore of the United States Senate from 1925 - 1929. Sedalia has been associated with several aspects of American culture including music (the city's Carnegie Hall is home to world-renowned orchestras), literature (including works by Sinclair Lewis and William Saroyan), motion pictures (director Cecil B DeMille filmed scenes here), television programs such as "Cheers" and "The Partridge Family", restauranteur Charlie Trotter's influential Trotter's Restaurant which still serves food today inside what used to be his business office building – one block east of Main Street – across from Central High School; local historian Don Easley's Historical Society; various high school alumni associations; more recently with Ceramic Bowling alley open since December 1st 2009 adjacent to Gadsden Mall; new public library opening within walking distance on May 14th 2005; all this while remaining largely rural until very recent times."
