Sedalia, MO is a small town located in Sedalia County, Missouri. The population was 15,243 as of the 2010 census. Gun grips are an important part of Sedalia's history and culture. The first gun grip was created by John A. Lambert in 1825. It consisted of a piece of wood with two circles carved into it, each about one-eighth inch wide and one-eighth inch high. There were two types of guns: muzzle loading and cast iron cannon balls could be loaded with either ball or powder using a hand crank process known as 'pinching'. In 1851, Abraham Lincoln was elected President of America which led to gun control laws becoming more stringent across America including Sedalia's town ordinance banning handguns from public use effective that year (See "Banning Firearms In Sedalia". ). However, this ordinance only applied to handguns not rifles or pistols; however it still stands as one of Sedalia's most proud moments. This ordinance also marked the beginning of handgun education programs in Sedalia which continue to this day; educating citizens about responsible firearm ownership today is something that has helped make our community safer than ever before! Asgun started manufacturing revolvers back in 1892 which is when they began making pistols as well as shotguns & ammunition for these new revolvers

Sedalia, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks of central Missouri. The population was 1,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sedalia-St. Louis metropolitan area. The village was founded in 1838 by Judge James Haskins and his family as a post office on an old Indian trading trail between Fort Donelson and Springfield. The first settler in Sedalia was John Cavanaugh, who arrived in 1841. He built two stores and a blacksmith shop near present day US Highway 64 and Court street. A Presbyterian church was erected on what is now Court square in 1845; it served as the community's main church until 1889 when its congregation moved to St. Louis. In 1847, Mr. Haskins donated land for a school which became Sedalia High School; it served as the primary high school from 1959 to 2003 when it merged with nearby Saint Louis University to form MO State University In 1952, President Harry S Truman designated Sedalia County an agricultural county; this designation lasted until 1984 when it was changed to "central Ozark". The early cotton farmers were replaced by more recent settlers who farmed corn, wheat, hay, soybeans and other crops until these began to decline in importance after World War II When Monsanto bought Vermilion Valley Farms in 1944 they decided that they wanted some land within Sedalia limits so they donated all of their farmland north of Interstate 44 (the old state line) to MO State University for use as research plantations There are still areas around town where Monsanto has not given up yet! Today there are many businesses located inside or close to downtown: banks (national/Bank American), convenience stores/grocery chains like Kroger/Pepsi-Cola/GMO food items (Eagleburger), bait shops (Lone Star BBQ & Grill), clothing retailers such as Sears and JCPenney/, home builders such as Century 21 (Alpinereal Estate) and others have set up shop since the late 1990s about 4 blocks northeast of downtown on First Avenue just off I-44 across from MO State University's Health Sciences Campus

Sedalia is a small town in Sedalia County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Sedalia was founded in 1836 as a result of the merging of two other towns, Springdale and Salina. The name derived from a Hebrew word meaning "place where God has his resting." The first post office in Sedalia was established on February 13, 1836, and served until it was discontinued on July 10, 1837. The first store in town was opened by James Henson on December 4, 1840. A millinery shop and grocery were also opened soon after. In 1852–1853 three miles (5 km) of wagon track were built from springvale to Sedalia; this made possible easy access for goods carried overland from Illinois to Missouri during the winter months. In 1865 an express line between Springfield and Columbia became available when the Kansas Pacific Railway extended its line to that point; this led to increased trade between these two cities and helped increase Sedalia's commercial importance during the late 1860s and early 1870s. A fire destroyed most of downtown Sedalia on November 2nd 1886; however, some stores remained open despite being looted by firefighters while they fought the blaze which left many buildings damaged or destroyed including one gilded old courthouse which still stands today as a museum shell known as "The Queen" (the building now housing the Eisenhower Presidential Library). Some new businesses replaced those lost in the fire but only lasted until 1889 when another fire destroyed almost all of downtown again leaving only four small businesses remaining: shoe stores (Fiske Brothers), druggists (Laughing Dog Pharmacy), groceries (McCoy & Sons) and boot Blacksmith Shop which continued operating until it closed down due to economic problems in 1893-1894 Overall although not without success since there had been earlier attempts at rebuilding downtown such as 1895 when failed efforts culminated with incorporation of what is now called Towne Center around First National Bank Building but that effort ultimately failed due largely to lack of support from local business owners who did not want their territory annexed into larger St Louis city limits
On July 14, 1846, the first post office was established in Sedalia. The town was named after General David Sedalia, who fought in the Mexican-American War and then served as a U.S. Representative from Missouri. In 1851, the post office moved to its present location on Main Street.
