Everytown for Gun Safety (ETGS), a nonprofit organization, has been working to promote gun safety in Rolla since its creation in 1997. ETGS’ mission is “to make it easy for people to do their civic duty by helping to prevent mass shootings and keep our community safe.” Gun swivels have a long history in Rolla, and are credited with helping to reduce the number of shootings in the town. On July 15, 1892, Rolla residents voted to pass an ordinance authorizing the sale of shotguns without barrels that could be turned around so they could be used as handguns. The first gun swivel was installed at the local grocery store on October 6th of that year. Since then, gun swivels have become an integral part of Rolla culture and are often seen as a symbol of townliness. In 2003, ETGS unveiled the Gun Swivel Museum which features more than 20 guns from across the United States that have been donated by owners or collectors. The museum is open every day from 9am-5pm and is free for all visitors.
There are many different types of gun swivels. Some people call them "gun circles." There are also three main types of gun circles: the Weaver, the Browning and the Mossberg. The Weaver is a common type of gun circle. It has a round hole in the middle where you place your hand to hold on to the barrel. The other end of this tube goes around your waist or shoulder and is attached to your firearm by a strap or band. This type of gun circle lets you rotate your weapon around your body without having to remove it from its holster. The Browning is another common type of gun circle. It has two holes in it, one on top of the other, so that you can place both hands on top of it like a drumhead when rotating it around your body. The Mossberg is an even more advanced type of gun circle that was invented by ranchers in the 1930s for use with their shotguns during roundup competitions. It has four large circular rings that fit over each barrel slot on the shotgun's hull and allow you to rotate it around your body while keeping it mounted securely on your rifle or shotgun stock with just one hand!

Rolla is a village in Pulaski County, Missouri, United States. The population was 727 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The Rolla-Pittsburg School District serves students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The first settler in Rolla was James Hargrave, who arrived in 1837 and built a cabin on the banks of the Arkansas River. A post office called Rolla was established in 1839, and remained in operation until 1865. A store, hotel, and lumberyard were all founded within minutes of each other around 1860 by John Ladd and others associated with the early growth of Rolla. By 1870, there were over 20 businesses located in town; lumbering became an important factor contributing to its economic development during this time period. In 1881, Rolla incorporated as a village under the name Pittsburg. At that time it had a population of 1,000 residents and consisted of three square blocks with two churches and nine stores. In 1902 the name was changed to Rolla because it appeared on a map from that year which showed rolling hills adjacent to what would become downtownRolla The city's success came slowly but surely during the 1920s as various businesses were opened up including dry goods store J&J Grocery (later Kroger) and automotive parts warehouse Wirtz & Sons Automotive Incorporated The population reached 5,000 by 1940 but decreased to 4,500 by 1950 due to being impacted by World War II shortages of food resources

Rolla was founded in 1847 as a town on the Rolla River. The first post office was established in 1848, and the population of Rolla peaked at 150 in 1860. However, by 1870, the population had decreased to 15 and only 2 businesses were located in Rolla. In 1872, Rolla was annexed by Liberty County and its population increased to 50. However, within a few years, rollabout died due to overpopulation and economic recession. In 1902, Rolla became an independent city after being admitted to the Union League of America. The mayor from 1902-1904 was J.W. McConnell and the first female Mayor of Rolla ( Lily Jane Welch) was elected in 1904. A new library was built in 1907 and dedicated on November 7th that year by Mrs John Sayers Higginson ( widow of President James Higginson). During World War I, rollabout raised $841 for the war effort with their bicycles which they distributed through local churches. After the war ended, many people returned to their lives outside ofrollabout due to lack of opportunities or health concerns however some continue living there through various small businesses such as farmaceutics store where former Mayor John Sayers Higginson still resides today
Rolla was a small town in central Missouri, United States. It was founded in 1836 by refugees from the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The town grew rapidly and by 1858 had a population of over 100 people. In 1872, Rolla became the county seat of Cass County.
