In 1949 the company merged with the Johnson-Hennessey Corporation to form Hennepin County Corporation Ltd. The merger resulted in increased production but also increased competition from other manufacturers of farm equipment. In 1979 the company merged with Cargill Plantation Incorporated to form Cargill-Hennessey Corporation. This merger resulted in an increase in profits for the company but also led to a decline in sales due to competition from larger companies.
Raytown is a small town in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 993 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Raytown post office was established in 1856 and discontinued in 1964. The first settler in Raytown was Tom Cavanaugh and his family who arrived from Ireland in 1855. They built a log cabin on a small stream near present-day Union Road and Main Street. In 1865, John Hogue settled in what is now Raytown and founded the Hogue grocery store which became one of the largest businesses in the community. In 1892, Elisha Ladd opened a feed store next to the Hogue store which continued to be important until it closed down in 1972 due to financial problems. In 1916, Emmitt Witherspoon established a general store called Witherspoon's that still stands today across from the high school on Main Street (now US Highway 54). Raytown had its first post office when it was laid out as a township on November 14, 1856 by order of Governor James K. Polk under Article V of the Missouri Constitution (). The name came about because early residents named their communities after trees found near their homes such as "Oak Hill", "Hornet's Nest", etcetera (). Most likely because early settlers could not afford to buy mail delivery service (), Raystown had its first post office located south of present-day Route 54 between Oak Hill Road and Frenchman's Ferry Road (). On December 1, 1876, postmaster Jeptha Sutherlin moved Post Office Boxes 3 & 4 from their original location east of Main Street north towards Frenchmen Ferry Rd., thus consolidating all seven posts within one building (). By 1888 there were ten post offices with an average population of 2290 inhabitants per each (). On October 26, 1907 Drury Mound opened her own medical dispensary adjacent to her father’s bakery () making health care available for everyone living within easy reach without having to leave their home or go to another city or town(). Soon afterwards other doctors followed suit including Drury Acheson who opened her own hospital adjacent to her father’s bakery on February 7th 1908 (). Today this structure still stands across from High School #2 along Route 54 just south of mile marker 129

Raytown is a small town in Clay County, Missouri, United States. The population was 653 at the 2010 census. The Raytown post office was established in 1873, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1998. The first settler of what would become Raytown was Ezra Ransom. He and his family arrived on October 15, 1873, and set up a farmstead near the present day intersection of U.S. 60 and First Street. A few years later, he married Anna Coxe. They had two children: a daughter named Sarah (1875-1964) and a son named Ezra (1879-1955). In 1881, John Southerland founded the nearby community of Clarksville about south of Raytown on the Missouri River floodplain. Like Raytown, Clarksville became an agricultural center with heavy reliance on slave labor for its sustenance during the early 19th century. By 1892, however, Clarksville had all but disappeared due to overwhelming railroad development east of town along US 60/First Street between Farmington and Stilwell Roads). When Kansas City annexed Clay County in 1907, it included most of modern Raytown within its boundaries; as such, no change occurred to the local government or demographics until 1918 when a new village form statute was passed by the Clay County Board Of Commissioners which merged 3 villages into one – that is – Raymond Heights Village (later renamed Highland Park), West Plains Village (later renamed Maple Lawn), and East Plains Village (later renamed Bloomington). As part of this consolidation process - which also eliminated many rural churches from Clay County's religious landscape), all three villages were placed under one roof and absorb their respective pastorates without any independent governance or parishioners exercising direct oversight or authority over their own affairs beyond providing ministering services to their congregations within their respective wards/parishes/. At that time - aside from single-family homes being built adjacent to each village limits - nothing exists physical evidence remaining from these earlier days whenRaystown functioned as an unincorporated community distinctively unto itself.. In 1957 - just shy of 100 years after Ezra Ransom erected his simple log cabin near today's intersection of U.S 60 & 1st Street – another resident moved into this same location following purchase of land southeast thereof through donation by Mrs Geo Hanks.. That same year saw establishment of what would become known as "theOriginalTown", situated directly across First Street from current day Raytown.. Today little remains visible exterior or interior vestiges remaining from what once constituted one OF THE VILLAGES IN CLAY COUNTY!
