The Raymore Arms Company continues to operate as a business proprietor today. John Raymore was a successful manufacturer of handguns and shotguns in Missouri before he started his own gun manufacturing company in 1892. After starting his own business, JohnRaymore quickly gained a reputation for producing quality firearms at an affordable price point. His products were popular among both himself and his customers, who appreciated their easy-to-use design and handling characteristics. CFI continued makingguns under its own name until 1987 when it merged with SA&P Co., Incorporated (SA&P) to become S&W Arms & AmmunitionCorp (SWAG). SWAG continued makingguns under its own name until 1994 when it absorbed Glock Holding Corporation into its corporate structure; Glock is now part of Sturm Ruger AG (Ruger). The Raymore School District encompasses Raymore Elementary School and Raymore Middle School. The high school is located in neighboring Garnett. A post office called Raymore was established in 1892, and remained in operation until it closed in 1934. The community of Raymondville was platted by John Nance Raymond on December 15, 1881. He named his town after his brother-in-law General James Hays Raymond who had fought for the Ulysses S Grant White House as a general during the American Civil War.

Raymore was a small town in the Ozarks region of Missouri, United States, located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Springfield and 10 miles (16 km) west of St. Louis. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Raymore was John Hance on March 15, 1829. There were only six families living there when it was platted in 1836. By 1840, however, the population had increased to 100 and by 1850 to 150. The post office was established at Raymore on December 20, 1856. In 1861, Confederate General James K. Polk sent orders to his forces south of Springfield ordering them not to approach that city but instead focus their attacks on Vicksburg instead which would allow Union General Ulysses S. Grant latitude to cross the Mississippi River and invade Missouri partisans under General Andrew Johnson were north of Springfield- this order would later be known as the "Johnson Letter". When Union General Ulysses S. Grant arrived at Springfield on January 1, 1862 he found that most of his army had been destroyed by winter weather while attempting to march northeast across Illinois towards Corinth; only a few thousand men remained usable for military operations outside Raymore where they were garrisoned using local black slaves as auxiliaries/troops along with white soldiers from nearby Rolla who also served in support role until April 1865 when all troops mustered out except 500 men who took up arms against Confederate forces after fled from Springfield into Maryland following the surrender of Robert Ewing's Confederate army there effective September 14th 1865 thus ending hostilities between Union and Confederacy giving rise to Reconstruction Era in America which lasted until November 4th 1830 when finally all African Americans must leave Republican controlled Missouri because of new state constitution establishing full Democratic rule thereby effectively ended Reconstruction era final events leading up to American Civil War which began October 12th 1861
