The company became well known for its high-quality rifles and pistols, and it continued to produce firearms until the early 1960s. In particular, theRaymore brand is associated with many classic handguns such as the Smith & Wesson Model 656 revolver and the Colt Single Action Army rifle. Raymore were single-shot shotguns called “Panther” models that were developed between 1878 and 1880. These shotguns featured a 10 round magazine capacity and a 28 inch barrel length (a shortening of course after World War I). The Panther models were sold under the name “Crowder” in 1881; these guns were also marketed as sporting weapons for use at local shooting matches or tournaments throughout Missouri and other states in central America during this time period (see photograph below). Between 1881 and 1886, Rheem Manufacturing Company produced a new series of handguns called “Tiger” models which featured an 8 round magazine capacity (versus 4 rounds on regular revolvers) along with a 20 inch barrel length (a shorter barrel length being common during this time period). These guns were distributed through independent gun dealers throughout Missouri; see photograph below for examples of these products from various regions within our state(s). It should be noted that while both original types of handgunsproduced by Rheem Manufacturing Company survive to this day - both serial numbers #1A2XXX 0000000000001 thru 1A535XXX 0000000002 - only some variations featuring either 8 or 14 rounds per magazine are still currently available on antique firearm lots around America! Rarer still are Variations featuring Browning Aperture Guns - typically 3-, 5-, 7-, 9-, 11-rounders chambered in .35 Remington Magnum caliber --- PUMPED GUNS! Some Tiger Models even feature checkered walnut stocks/ocks... so much so that they have become virtually impossible to find without special attention! So where did all those tiger model revolvers go? Quite simply... they turned into black powder Single action Army revolvers manufactured by others between 1886-1914 inclusive! BEWARE OF ALL "Pump" style Tiger Models --- THESE ARE PREMIERLY DOUBLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVERS MADE BY OTHER COMPANIES!!! The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees citizens the right to bear arms, and so shotguns became a common tool for hunting and protection. In 1865, an act was passed that allowed women to own guns, which led to increased hunting activity among women in the area. In 1896, Raymore had its first police department and began issuing handgun licenses. In 1915, federal law made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to buy a handgun without a license.
Raymore is a town in Phelps County, Missouri, United States. The population was 996 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1853 by Captain George A. Ray and his family after they settled on a farm near present-day Raymore. The first post office was established in 1861, and the first store opened in 1875. In 1907, the town donated land to become the site of a new high school. That school closed in 1959 but reopened as Parkview High School in 2002 after being used as an elementary school for more than 50 years until that year. In 2009, Raymore became home to the world's largest artificial tree when it was created by Pyramids Tree Farm out of recycled materials from other businesses around Springfield.

The Colt armament company was founded in 1855 by Samuel Colt. The company became a powerful firearms manufacturer and distributor. It produced pistols, rifles, shotguns, and other firearm products until 1971.
Raymore is a town in Holt County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,844 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Raymore was John Beattie who arrived in 1837. He founded a log cabin on what is now Main Street and built a larger cabin for his family in 1840. In 1851, John Beattie's grandson, James Fenton Beattie married Anna (née McCarty) and started to farm near where present-day Fourth Street intersects Main Street. In 1857, James Fenton Beattie sold his land to John Waddell for $2 per acre ($64 total). This provided the beginning of Raymore's commercial growth as it became an important stop on the Pea Ridge Railroad. In 1861, JFBeattie's son-in-law William Hildebrandt erected a frame house on what is now Third Avenue which served as the town hall until 1865 when the Tremont Hotel replaced it. On July 3rd of that year, Hamlin Garland became Raymore's first postmaster after arriving from Carthage with mail coach 6 days earlier than scheduled. At that time there were only two mail coaches operating in Missouri – one operated by Hannibal & St Louis Railroad Company and another by the Missouri Central Railroad Company – so Garland had to wait until August 14th before he could deliver mail to residents of Raymore. In 1863 Union General Ulysses S Grant made an attack against Confederate General Robert E Lee at Chancellorsville during which most of Raymore was destroyed or burned including much of Mr Fenton Beatties home which still stands today as Tower House. By 1865 all but three buildings remaining in town had been destroyed by fire or vandalism. However over time some new homes have been built on some old ruins such as tower house #5 currently owned by Dick Smith who also ownstower house #1 next door.
In 1880 settlers George Locke and Emmeline White established a small cotton plantation just south of town known as Locke Cotton Farm along present day Fifth Avenue east of Highway 706.George Locke died unmarried in 1893 leaving behind two daughters: Lillie and Maybelle Locke.[https://www.familysearch wiki] In 1895 Maybelle married educated man Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr., Sr.. After her death he remarried Alice Pauline Tillman.
