In 1907, the first post office in Raymore was opened. This served as a base from which customers could order ammo from local merchants. Ammunition sales continued to grow until World War II when the demand for munitions plummeted due to wartime rationing. In 1945, gun control laws were passed following the war and Ammo stores were closed one by one throughout Missouri. By then, many of these businesses had been replaced by small arsenals or manufacturing plants that manufactured various types of ammunition and firearms products. Today, there are still a few Ammo stores remaining in Raymore but they are smaller operation with lessened inventories because of advances in technology and online shopping options. Raymore is a town in Clay County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,693 at the 2000 census. It lies on the west side of the Arkansas River. The Raymore post office was established in 1872, and remained in operation until it closed in 1935. The village of Raymore was platted in 1881, and named for Simon Raymore, an early settler. The first store in Raymore was built by Wm. Hickey and started operation on Main Street in 1886. In 1916 the community had a school and two churches- one Baptist and one Methodist. A gas station/restaurant opened up on US Highway 40 about northeast of the original Raymondmere limits in 1949 which became known as "The Roger's". In 1957, construction began on what would become Fridley Mall which replaced Raymondmere's only store which closed that year due to high traffic volumes caused by nearby Interstate 44 development. New businesses have since moved into Fridley Mall including a restaurant (Taco Bell) and several stores such as Sears & Roebuck Co., JCPenney Inc., Macy's Inc., Kmart Inc., Best Buy Co., Sprint Corporation Store #5252 (now Microsoft Store), Lowe's Home Improvement Co., along with several smaller stores like Family Dollar Stores Plumbing & Heating Contractors etc.. Fridley Mall also hosts a large number of concerts each year from different music festivals throughout Clay County; these events have included headlining acts like Taylor Swift and Lorde during their respective Lollapalooza Festivals as well as smaller shows by local bands throughout September- October each year.

The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was founded in 1892, and began making shotguns that fired 11-round magazines. In 1911, they introduced their 870 shotgun cartridge which became very popular due to its high ballistic performance. This shotgun round was designed to use conventional buckshot rounds which were then packed into11-round magazine clips.
Raymore, Missouri is located in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. The town was founded in 1836 by a group of settlers from Illinois. The community was named for General James K. Ray and his family. The first store in the town was built on Main Street. In 1860, the town had a population of about 100 people and it grew to over 200 people by 1870. In 1882, theRaymore cotton gin was built and operated until 1935. In 1925, the Raymore post office closed and all mail was delivered through Springfield. The town had a school district that operated until 1975. A new school building was completed in 1984 and served as the Raymore Middle School until 2003 when it became anelementary school called Northside High School. Two stores are still standing in Town Square: one been operated by Mrs. Jules White since 1886, while another has been run by Mr .Hugh Meeks since 1978; both were once used as grocery stores before becoming home to various businesses including two churches (First Baptist Church which merged with First Methodist Temple in 1998 and now serves as an Evangelical Lutheran church) as well as several houses of worship including United Brethren (UBC) who moved into their current property in 1984 after years of campaigning by members of that congregation who felt they could not find a suitable location elsewhere within walking distance of their temple complex
Raymore was founded by John and Frances Ray in 1835. The town grew rapidly after the opening of the Illinois and Missouri Railroad in 1847, becoming a major railroad junction. In 1865, the town was renamed for General Ulysses S. Grant after his victory at Vicksburg. The population of Raymore peaked at over 1,500 in 1920, but declined during World War II due to military casualties and the closure of the railroad. The community returned to a population of around 100 in the early 21st century.
