In 1938, the company merged with rival Olin Glass Company to form Olin–Kendall Corporation. The merger resulted in a larger production capacity forbinoculars and an increased focus on quality control. Over time, Kendall & Kendall became well known for their high-quality products. Today, the company continues to produce binoculars under its own brand name with continued emphasis on quality and innovation.

Poplar Bluff, Missouri is a small town located in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 1,874 at the 2010 census. Poplar Bluff is home to the historic Poplar Bluff Arsenal and also includes several smaller businesses and residences. The first settler in what is now Poplar Bluff was John Roemer, who arrived in 1819. Roemer's heirs sold their land to William Tecumseh Sherman in 1825 for $10,000. Sherman founded the city of Chicago on the site of what is now downtown Chicago and used part of his salary from selling land in Illinois to buy a large tract of land east of Kansas City that he named "Poplar Bluffs". In 1836, when Missouri became a state, Sherman donated all of his property including "Poplar Bluffs" to the General Government for use as a military reservation. The reservation comprised an area that extended from present-day Poplar BlUFF to Fort Scott and included present-day Wichita County and parts of Shawnee County and farmsteads along its northern border with Lawrence County (now Kansas). In 1861, during the American Civil War, Confederate troops burned down Union forces' lodges near present-day PoplarBlUFF after taking prisoners there. On July 4th 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in Ford Chapel south of Washington Dc., leaving office one day before his formal inauguration as president which took place on August 3rd 1865 As part of mourning for Lincoln's death local businesses around town closed their doors until it reopened on October 8th 1865 following passage by Congress Of An act establishing a mint within said limits And providing for its operation On November 6th 1870 James Fenton purchased about two acres north of Main Street from Mr Wm Purdy for $600 . He organized Fenton & Co which later became JF Eaton Company

In 1852, he created the "Conte-Aquiline" models, which featured bright green lenses and were used by cavalry officers and other soldiers on horseback.
Poplar Bluff, Missouri is a town in Carbon County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,835 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1857 by Mormons who came from Utah. Poplar Bluff is located on the east bank of the Arkansas River, about 20 miles (32 km) north of St. Joseph and 50 miles (80 km) south of Kansas City. The growth of Poplar Bluff was due to its location as a transportation and agricultural center on the Arkansas River. A railroad station was built here in 1871 and became a major stop for travelers traveling between St. Joseph and Kansas City. The town also developed into an agricultural center with many businesses involved in growing crops such as cotton and wheat. In 1929, Poplar Bluff replaced Saint Peters as the capital of Carbon County after that county was created from parts of three other counties: Charlevoix, Newtonia and Pettisville. during World War II, PoplarBluff had a wide variety of manufactures including aircraft parts and Liberty B-24 bombers
